Creative Recreation for 2010 made a New Year’s resolution to upgrade women’s offerings from strictly athletic to a more growned-up and sophisticated line of women’s heels, whose strength is their sure-handed mix of materials. Love the open-toe, lace-up boots featured here, especially the two-tone, which are definitely not for the feint of heart.

Creative Recreation is looking for a fan to create a commercial or video for their line of shoes. The want to know what the brand means to you and sum it up in under 2 minutes. You can either produce an entire commercial or just a pitch of your idea for one.  The winner will receive six months worth of free shoes…that’s one pair per month. We here at Highsnobette were lucky enough to catch a glimpse of what’s to come for Creative Recreation. I must say I was already a huge fan of the brand and after meeting their super gracious and sweet staff and hearing about their plots to take over the sneaker world i’m now borderline obssesed with the brand. I’m pleased as punch to announce that over the next year or so Creative Recreation is looking to amp up their women’s line and they have a lot in store for us ladies. My sneak peek revealed that this season they kept to their clean aesthetic but experimented with an interesting array of materials, textures, and patterns. From patent leather to neoprene (yes! Neoprene!) Creative Rec really took some chances and mixed things up and the results were explosive. I personally plan on being first in line to grab the robin’s egg blue neoprene set to hit stores July 1st. Look for the rest to drop by September.

A minute back I mentioned that Creative Rec had some adorable kid’s shoes, which match up with the adults. While at Project, I was able to snap some of those cute combos:

While visiting with CreativeRec, p.r. rep Carrie wanted to know if we cover kids, and our answer was an emphatic yes ’cause I know for a fact that some of our readers have babies and like to keep them laced up. My son is past the point where I can put him in a pair of awwww-look-how-cute-those-are sneakers, but Mommies who still have little boo-boos have more options than ever.

Creative Rec has a full line of sneakers for boys and for spring it launches a line for girls! I couldn’t photograph them, but wait ’til you see!! So cute and they’re exact take downs of the grown-up’s styles so you and baby girl can totaly coordinate!

In the world of women’s kicks, there are two brands that are currently killing it. One of them is The Big Swooshy and the other is Creative Rec. A couple years back I was hearing from local BK sneakers stores that Creative’s women’s product was selling back to the wall and judging by the looks of what the brand is serving up for holiday their roll will continue:

On an altogether different note, while we were at the Creative Rec showroom, me, Samia and Creative Rec p.r. champ Carrie had a fun chat about how the major fashion mags basically shun the whole concept of chicks in kicks. And all I can say is that even as their circulation numbers drop through the floor, I hope they stay stupid ’cause it only means more readers for us!

One more low style on the other side…..

I made it out to Vegas! First thing I did was to visit the Compass show, a long overdue, hip, alternative to the WSA shoe show. It was mostly men’s shoes, but there was some great stuff there for women, too. First up, Creative Rec, which has been killing it with its women’s product:

One more on the other side…

Creative Rec is still doing it and it’s one of the few sneaker brands that takes designing for ladies as seriously as it does for the fellas. I’m told the following group represent the best of spring 2008:

^^^The baddest one of all. This Gallo Hi is just plain ridiculous (I repeat, Ree.Dick.You.Less) and it’s the one in the line-up that wins this brand HighSnobettiest item of the day!
