KateUptonCRFashionBook 405x540 Kate Upton Lands First Cover For CR Fashion Book

Parisian editor Carine Roitfeld chooses Kate Upton as photographed by Bruce Weber to cover the first issue of CR Fashion Book, which hits newstands September 13th. The theme of this issue is rebirth, thus the chicks, along with interior editorials featuring Roitfeld’s pregnant daughter. Upton as a cover choice has Roitfeld’s love of the contrarian viewpoint written all over it (as of late the model’s worthiness as anything more than a pin-up girl has been hotly debated), not to mention her appreciation for cleavage shots. On another note, one thing that’s really adorable about this image is Upton’s full-on girly grin, you really get the impression she is genuinely tickled by the handful of chicks she’s been tasked with holding. What a great trick to illicit a genuinely happy face.

CRFashionbook CR Fashion Book First Images

We are all waiting for the debut issue of Carine Roitfeld’s new magazine, CR Fashion Book. Today, we spotted the second preview image which shows a woman in black, holding a doll swaddled in white. This picture is as rich in contrast as the first one where we saw model Juliet Ingleby only veiled in a pink drapery walking though a cemetery followed by three other models, all dressed in black leather suits.

The first issue of CR Fashion Book is available for preorder now and will be available in bookstores and newsstands on September 13.

A GIF from Carine Roitfeld, who has been teasing bits and pieces from her upcoming magazine, CR Fashion Book, which launches September 13th. Roitfeld is part of the fabric that makes up the culture of the international fashion community, but it’s hard to see this effort having nearly the impact Vogue Paris did. Then again, maybe that doesn’t matter.
