This whole trend of icnoic rock bands as a hot fashion graphic flew right by me and I didn’t even realize its existence until my vist to Magic in August. It still has me confused to be honest, but okay. Are people that fed up with rap music or is it just the yearning for days of hedonism gone by? Looking back with longing at the years when people were getting laid on the reg and folks got sloppy in bars rather than wrapped further tight in Starbucks? No idea, but I do think these Chucks riffing on sexy motherfather Jim Morrison are cute:

On a recent trip to Journeys I came across the Cobain edition Converse line,I loved the idea and wish it happened when Kurt was alive …However this particular style, made to look worn…kind of puzzled me..

 I love everything grunge, but Is not the idea to actually wear your kicks so they  Get Beat Up?  Aside from Kurt’s Signature… there could have been so many other design options to Commemorate the Cutie Of Grunge…The low top with doodles is cool  (on the next page)..But the artificial Worn Look I can’t…

Converse is celebrating its 100th year anniversary and natch, they’ve hooked up with some indie-cool artists as a way to promote the event. If you visit the site, you can download "My Drive Thru," a song that went live yesterday and includes contributions from N.E.R.D., Santogold and The Strokes Julian Casablancas. A video and behind-the-scenes imagery isn’t on the site yet, but will be soon.

If you don’t want to download the song, someone already uploaded the music up to YouTube. It’s aiiight, in my opinion. The beat is great, but by the middle it sounds like way to many cooks were meddling in the kitchen.
