Via Spiga Armenia Clogs

3rt1 Via Spiga Armenia Clogs

I almost declared the clogs trend to be lost on me,  I admire them from afar, but  the most part,  most styles are too clunky and,  in my opinion not very flattering. Via Spiga totally takes away my hesitation with their Summer 2010 Styles, The Armenia  above , the tasseled  Allston, and the strapped Astro. A closer look at the Armenia on the next page. Available at Viaspiga.

Seychelle Clogs at Karmaloop

 Seychelle Clogs at Karmaloop

If you were paying attention to spring 2010 collections, you know clogs were viewed as a breakout trend. However, there seems to be a fair amount of trepidation in approaching this trend, like folks aren’t altogether convinced. Part of the problem is that clogs a la Ecco have never gone away and are pretty much the opposite of fashion. These Seychelle clogs are appealing because the design is fresh feeling, plus, given that they feature a wooden heel (and none of the heinous staples that I despise with all my heart) and are priced at $96, they’re pretty a good bet for making a committment that won’t break your heart if it doesn’t work out.

KhloeJBrandAlex Khloe K. in Super Hot J. Brand AND Alex Clogs!!

She’s been my secret-fave Kardashian sister for a while now (shhh, don’t tell anyone), but I’m not so sure anymore now that I’ve spotted her wearing two items I am dying to own (one of which–the shoes–I never will, they are sold to the wall, folks): J. Brand super-duper hot Houlihan jeans, and, (I sob as I write this) THE Alexander Wang clogs. How do I now hate you, “Klow,” let me count the ways!

Images from DenimBlog. Catch her going on the flip and see part of the reason Lamar loves her so!

Dulce Clogs at Magic: Spring 2010

MagicDulceClogs2010 Dulce Clogs at Magic: Spring 2010

After being stopped in my track by Dulce’s au courant leopard-print clogs, I sat down with Dulce’s namesake designer Dulce DeHaven and had a very long chat about the world of Brazilian shoes. I’ve always known Brazil was a hotspot for shoe manufacturing, but didn’t realize it’s become the main spot for bridge designers like Tory Burch, LAMB, among many others. Dulce herself started out in bags, and recently added footwear. I loved not only the design of these clogs, but the quality was as amazing as it appears in these images…and believe it or not, the shoes retail for under $200. I’m not lying!

One more image after the flip…

Ugg Abbie vs. Chanel ss2010 Clogs

chanel ss2010 clogs

When it comes to clogs, as much as I  love a super high heel I always wonder about the perils of twisting your ankle, a misfortune I  have endured one too many times. I  just spotted the  Abbie clogs by Uggs and I wonder if this is one rare opportunity where lower might just be better as oppose to Chanel’s ss 2010 version ? Chanel Spring 2010 = The Clogs

06 October 2009, 18.06 | Posted in Design, Shoes | No comments »

chanelfront Chanel Spring 2010 = The Clogs

Chanel’s Spring 2010 read-to-wear collection was very Chanel-y (read my great editorial stylings and WEEP, Vogue), in other words, lotsa lace, perfect jackets and tons of frou-frou, mademoiselle-on-the-verge dresses. The big newness story was the clogs the models wore, many of which matched the fabrics of the dresses they were paired with. At first I was like, yuck, what in the hell is this high-heeled Ecco nightmare? But then I came around and I am at the point of somewhat feeling this look. One way or another, it looks like there’s gonna be a lot of wooden heels being flashed this Spring.
