A lot of hype is being built around Watch The Throne, a soon-to-be released record from Jay-Z and Kanye West, available for preorder August 2nd. Part of the push includes recording session images, with the one featured here one of the more intriguing of the bunch. Lots of body language going down between Jay and Bee. Can’t quite figure it out but it sure is fun to try! Via Hypebeast.

Beyonce was recently featured in Time magazine, wearing a Masai-inspired necklace by one of our faves, accessory designer Melody Ehsani. The orginal pic was black and white and in this lush color version you get a better feel for the look of the necklace as well as what color she chose for her perfectly simple yet on point mani.

Exec’s Worried Beyonce’s Album Is Looking Like A Flop

Beyonce4 540x360 Execs Worried Beyonces Album Is Looking Like A Flop

We wondered last week whether Beyonce’s newest album, “4,” had been leaked because it was looking like a flop. And today there’s an article in the NY Post today speaking to just that problem:

Columbia Records executives fear Beyoncé’s new album, “4,” could be a dud after she refused to return to the studio to re-record new tracks, sources say. “They’re very nervous about Beyoncé’s new record,” an industry insider told us. “It doesn’t have the hit songs that her fans are used to. They asked her to make changes, but she said no.”

Bracing for the worst, Columbia suits are strategizing in case of slower sales and have had “quiet discussions” about the reunion of Destiny’s Child. “Beyoncé’s career has stalled a bit,” a source told us. “Columbia seems to think they can get some mileage out of a comeback record with all of the girls.” Another source tells us Destiny’s Child could start recording together as early as October, with a suggested album title “Family Reunion.”

Every legendary artist stumbles. It’s hard to imagine Beyonce putting her tail between her legs and reuniting with Destiny’s Child even if “4″ should fail spectacularly. My guess is that she brushes that dirt off her shoulders and keeps it moving and recovers with her next effort.

Image above is part of a series of photographs her label is releasing in the lead up to the launch of “4″ on June 28th.

Always fascinated by the publicity machine behind an album release, with Beyonce gracing yet another one–this time  a double of  cover for L’uomo Vogue’s July/August issue, sharing the spot with pro tennis player Novak Djokovic. Think Vogue Italia or Vogue India is next?

Beyonce On Cover Of Dazed & Confused

Beyonce is looking good on the cover of Dazed & Confused magazine.

That out of the away, I’m wondering…was Beyonce’s album, 4, leaked accidentally-on-purpose because it’s looking like a tanker?? (”Girls” was just okay and “Best Thing I Never Had” is almost unlistenable, and I say that as a fan of her and her music.)  From what I read sales of “Girls” disappointed so maybe you leak and then blame subsequent poor sales on that rather than poor content? Is that how stuff is done in the music industry? It’s one of the shadiest businesses on the planet so I wouldn’t be surprised.

The Billboard Music Awards took place last night in Las Vegas, and some of our style faves were there, including Beyonce, Rihanna and Nicki Minaj. Here is fascinating shot of Rihanna with Jay Z, a pair whose exact relationship has always had an air of mystery to it, like, hmmm….

On the next page, red carpet plus performance images from all of the above, plus Fergie, Britney Spears, Keri Hilson, Kelly Rowland, Mary J and a couple more.

Video: Beyonce ‘Run The World (Girls)’

Beyonce’s first single, “Run The World (Girls)” from her upcoming album, “Four,” has arrived. The song is fine and the theme, women empowerment, is fairly standard issue  for her. A few things to look out for: product placement shot of Converse One Star sneakers at 1:21, hyenas on chains at 1:56, Beyonce giving a pixilated finger at 2:05 and also flashing her stiletto mani at 2:24, making this nail profile an official pop star trend.

Beyonce On Cover Of Billboard

In advance of her upcoming album, “4,” Beyonce has begun gearing up her publicity machine starting with a cover on Billboard magazine.

Beyonce is an amazing human whose success we love to see, ’nuff said, but in many ways she reminds me of a well-regarded CEO of a major corporation. When it comes to running the company and producing, clearly she brings an elite talent to the table that puts others to shame, but still, what the world witnesses is always on message and there is little to nothing left to chance. Beyonce’s themes (and Rihanna’s and Lady Gaga’s) may be more provocative than those of your average corporation because they’re ”artists,” but still there’s a plan in place. In her case, the message is female empowerment and sisters having it all, which hey, you can’t knock that hustle and why would you even want to.
