Titled “Not Only,” House of 950 presented its Autumn/Winter 2012 collection   at the Cue Arts Foundation during New York Fashion week. Conceptual yet very wearable, each piece has the the ability to be worn in more ways then one.  Arranged in  several installations,  with dialogue and on site web confessions from the models Alice Spears and Eric Holbreich this is clearly a label that sets itself apart and says more than meets the eye. We are fans!

Straying away from the dark, structured yet meticulously disheveled direction that most designers tend to go for in their Autumn collections, Norma Kamali’s  line took the path of looking back at the exciting waves of women empowerment with outfits that literally make statements (’90s streetwear, anyone?) or pop with color and polka dots.

After being asked by Highsnobette  why she felt that it was right to design a celebratory collection in 2012, Kamali gives a thankful nod to “technology and the internet, because fashion has become more accessible, democratic, and therefore empowering.”  With the presentation also premiering the $100 and less collection, Kamalikulture, she may have lined her ducks right. We are giving you a little peek of Hellz Bellz’s Belle of the Brawl for this coming fall. The collection mixes draped silhouettes with lots of funky metal adornments and continues the labels foray into footwear. Peek on the flip.

While the idea of shorts attached to leggings can sound a little gimmicky to the Snobettes, done well the concept can be genius. In My Air, spotted at Project, definitely wins our approval with its shorts/leather leggings combo. See the silky version on the flip. Yes we luvs!

Created by  the charming Maria Agnes (above) , Blackheart label blends a rock /goth edge with feminine sensitivities. Autumn/Winter 2012 titled ‘Tempest’ features lots of  contrasting colors and texture for a look that is anything but average. hence  Blackheart gets a Snobette  seal of approval.  See a little preview on the next page .

We had the opportunity to preview Raif’s upcoming knitwear collection this past week in New York. Titled “Silent Presence,” the rich knits have a subtle  lux outdoorsy feel. A favorite was the Fair Isle above with an Army/Navy hood attachment. Take a closer look on the next page and view a short documentary on designer Raif Adelberg via his collaboration with Stussy.
