Humberto Leon and Carole Lim introduce functionality and their undeniable cool factor for their Autumn/Winter 2012 collection for Kenzo. Every look cooler and more desirable than the the next. Modern and chic yet very suitable for the life of the city woman on the go:

One of our new house codes is functionality. In our previous collection it meant reversibility, garments that could be worn inside out. For Fall, we’ve created garments with zip-off pieces that provide an element of transformation – a coat will zip-off to become a cropped jacket and skirt. We also focused on technological fabric treatments, like rubberized exteriors on coats to fend off rain.

New York-based Juma is the brainchild of siblings Alia and Jamil Juma. Since its conception in 2003, Juma has continued to showcase its signature abstract and kaleidoscopic prints in juxtaposition to an array of luxurious scarves and edgy silhouettes. A spring appropriate update on black and white with Batik dyeing techniques, celestial floral bursts, and the incorporation of a violet palette, creating a soft interpretation of reptilian scales are eye candy details guaranteed to turn heads. -Rika Nurrahmah.

At the heart of the trendy Vieux Montreal, Denis Gagnon launched his Autumn-Winter 2012 prêt-à-porter collection.  Even though this collection also celebrates Denis’ come back to the menswear scene after 8 years of absence, ‘Androgynous’ -as stated in designer’s press release preceding the launch-is the right way to describe the pieces we saw this evening. We love a unique piece which stands strong and speaks for itself (check out some pics after the flip)  That’s the vibe we got from the walk-trough.  Rightfully so, champagne flowed while the stylish crowd mingled and expressed their appreciation.  So Cheers to Denis! l’hiver sera chaud!-  Nadine GP.

New York-based Pvblic takes its global signature concept to a new country every season, with folklore elements of Ukraine inspiring Autumn/Winter 2012’s theme.  The Ukraine edition features cozy sweatshirts (the ‘Babushka” hoodie is fever!) pants, organic cotton, silks and “authentic Ukrainian details such as pom poms, antique Soviet-era metal pins and “poyas,” sashes handmade in the Carpathian Mountains.”  Take a closer look at Pvblic on the next page.
