Through its collaborations, Melissa has established not only that it’s savvy about who to rub shoulders with, but also that it’s willing to give its partners free rein to take some risks. In this case, it turned its design boards over to Italian architect Gaetano Pesce, whose resultant ankle boot includes giving the buyer the fun option of customizing her boot by cutting away the plastic circles.
