Late last year we saw some men’s looks from the Levi’s X Gaultier denim collaboration and now we get a peek at the women’s. The bra top featured here is insanely iconic and speaks to the power of design to resonate through the decades and sometimes even centuries. If a designer can create even one signature look for which s/he is recognized through the ages, that has to be viewed as a dream-come-true achievement.

It’s funny because today earlier I was posting about a three-year-old Married to the Mob video and how MOB designer Leah McSweeney was an early appreciator of the wonders of plushies. I wonder if when Karl did this collection he was aware of the whole stuffed animal sex fetish thing. I’m thinking he had to be. I have to say when you stumble upon the world of plushophiles, it is really fascinating and inspiring. Just read the following quotes from a well-known Vanity Fair article on furry fandom and see if it doesn’t make you smile: “We’re a group of people who like things having to do with animals and cartoons,” a man in a tiger suit tells a woman. “We’re furries.” Maybe after a year of more b.s. than he could imagine, Karl was looking to feel a little happy. Bless his creative heart if that is the case.

Someone got my kid a subscription to Sports Illustrated (which he doesn’t read for the articles OR the pics….thanks for nothing Facebook!) so I got a firsthand look at the Swimsuit Issue, which I previewed some images from last week. I started scanning all sorts of pages, but they came out crappy and then I discovered that SI has tons, and I mean TONS, of shots up on its own site. So what the hell, I reduced everything down to this one sweet Missoni suit, which is modeled here by Jess Gomes. If you’re looking for ideas for a bikini, it’s a good place to start.
