Yves Saint- Laurent died Today at 71, the creator of the famed YSL brand  was born in Algeria making him, African . He was made famous by his safari looks and  was the first designer to use black models on his runway.

Yves Saint Laurent  made women look sexy without frills,  there was always and edgy sexiness in the way he made women look. My favorite fashion image of all time was” Le Smoking “shot by Helmut Newton in 1975 where YSL features  a woman in a tuxedo,  a classic illustrating the true meaning of the Power Suit.
