Lately the fashion world has not been feeling the color black. At all. But here in New York anyway, the darkest color of them all will return with the chilly, autumn breezes just as sure as the leaves will fall from the trees.

HighSnobette has always been a major booster of M.O.B./MTTM and its head designer Leah McSweeney. The belief has always been that her talent, her vision AND her force of personalilty are unmatched when it comes all that’s up and coming in women’s fashion. And after spotting the images from Bread & Butter of her first cut and sewn line, we knew it was time for a catch-up chat.

At Leah’s studio/home, where three employees (another two who arrived after we wrapped things up) were hard at work, we talked about her near-term plans to make the business official with a move to an office in the Empire State Building, as well as the stresses of expanding M.O.B in a big way while also starting a family (and how much it sucks how women always get asked questions about their babies but men never do!) A LOT of what we talked about has to stay off the record (sorry!), but as far as her plans with shoes go, I am allowed to say that if you liked her Collette/Reebok collabo, there are even bigger shoe things in the works that are even more draw-dropping.

^^A sneak peek at Fall/Holiday, which includes denim, leggings, outerwear, crewnecks, fiited caps, bags and jewelry. Leah says so far she likes the crew necks most of all.

HS: You’re moving your business to the Empire State Building. Why?

Leah: It’s time to get real deal. I’ve gone from working out of my Grandmother’s apartment that I got evicted from to working from my own apartment and it’s time to move on and take things to the next level.

HS: Bread & Butter was your first trade show. What’d you think?

Leah: It was great. We thought we’d have to educate people on the brand in Europe, but there was more recognition than we expected. But I’m not a trade show person so I was bored. And it was weird to have people touching my things.

HS: When does the collection ship and who gets it?

Leah: We deliver fall September 1st, and we’ll work with the same kind of good stores that we’ve always worked with.

HS: How was it putting together your first cut and sewn collection?

Leah: The designing part is fun, but the production part is not fun. That part was really fucking hard. And stressful.

20LtD a concept we featured a while back, reflect the real concept of an exclusive product.The designer/brand is chosen to produce an item of  20 editions whose sale is exclusive to the 20ltd clients.

In the case Of the Christian Louboutin"Turquoise silk and Antique lace mouche Zeppa the edition went to 35 pairs where there are currently only 3 left!

In the Streetwear world  and sneaker world  the concept of "exclusivity had been played with and abused…And sometimes hides just an inability by smaller brands to produce mass quantities.Leave it to the luxury world  to fully illustrate what "you can’t get those" really means.Athough I would take it further and request that my name be embroidered somewhere too…don’t you agree?

As it often happens when high-profile couples like Mashonda and Swizz split up, at least one (and usually it’s the one who all along has been resenting his/her backseat role) starts showing up at LOTS of events. Is it an attempt to up the profile and get back in the game or a way to put it in the face of the ex that’s been left?? Who knows, but whichever it was, Shonda sure was looking cute at recent Kimora-host event she attended:

^^Mashonda looks perfectly summery in an adorable, silk jumper, but it was her shoes, which you can see after the flip, that put the exclamation point on this outfit.

UPDATE: We’re told that Mashonda’s jumpsuit is DVF. No surprise there cuz we love Diane forever & ALWAYS.

Yohji Yamamoto is to me one of the pioneers of modern Fashion,who pushes the boundaries of convention in design, and in marketing.He  recently launched the concept Coming Soon whose philosophy is:

.."created for a generation of men and women who wear what they like without stating who designed it.Wearing Coming Soon is an act to express who you are through the essence of clothing,fabric and cut For everyday comfort and style"

The concept of not stating who designed  IT,is interesting when monogrammed accessories are all the rave…Style is personal and individual  and the Women’s line is more than wearable I want every piece..Nonetheless with the mainstream perception of what women’s wear is "supposed to look like" I’m curious to see how many  major retailers will indeed think outside the box and carry it…

I’ve long been an admirer of this celeb’s girls, and because I’ve seen them in person, I can attest to their perfection–no air brushing or benefit from a forgiving camera lens here! As for hints, just looking at her ample bosom probably has you imagining all sorts of lustful scenarios, but the truth is, you probably couldn’t handle this female….’sides, she’s totally already married anyway.

Normally, I’m nice and I reveal the owner of the rack after the fold, but sorry people, not today. You’ll just have to keep staring at them and think really HARD about who it could be! The winner’s subject heading was hilarious: "picture of leah’s tits!" A lot of people guessed Lindsey Lohan and a couple said Megan Fox. The thing is, we only feature boobage of celebs we like and admire for some reason or another and those two just aren’t on our radar. Like, for example, Jess Simpson may have great tatas, but she’s just not our kind of chick. Thus, her cleavage will never grace our pages.
