Not Bad For A Girl designer, Karen Jane, was officially the first female artist to collaborate with the mighty UK-based label Addict earlier this year, placing her firmly amongst established talentsuch as She One, Swifty, C-Law and Mode 2. Following the success of the Spring/Summer collaboration, the team is doing it again for Autumn/Winter.

 The NBFG x Addict AW08 pieces feature a rolling cube monogram print on both MethodZip Hoody and tees. The tees will be available in both black and white. The pieces will drop in August this year and will form part of Addict’s Autumn Winter ‘08 catalogue."

Yesterday I got o visit the Capsule Tradeshow, who has to be The best NyC Tradeshow ever,the show features some the "Sexiest Men’s Brands out there"

from shoes to apparel and accessories,Capsule’s assortment is modern,elegant while still keeping a city/urban sensibility.One of the brands that I fell for of course had an equally well made and designed women’s line,Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair,From Sweden.The line focuses on adapting great tailoring techniques to create a sharp and feminine silhouette that is full of exquisite and subtle detailling.

Renzo Rosso, the Italian industrialist behind Diesel, has acquired a majority stake in the Dutch designer firm Viktor & Rolf with ambitions to build it into one of the “top reference fashion houses of the future.”

Financial terms were not disclosed, but Rosso told WWD he plans to make major investments to bolster the duo’s ready-to-wear business, add licensed products such as eyewear and jewelry, plus open freestanding stores in high-visibility locations.

 On the 8th of August, the day of the Beijing Olympics Opening,Nike will be opening a Nike Sportswear flagship store in New York City. It will be a dedicated, stand-alone Nike Sportswear store and it seems like it is not a pop-up but a permanent store in Soho. There will be a series of pop-up stores, such as the ones at Opening Ceremy LA and NY , but this will be the only permanent store.

So Finally after many calls and gymnastics I fanally got my hands on the famed  Vogue Italia July 2008 “A Black Issue”

For as much as it has been a big deal in some sectors like the fashion scene in New York where the issue was Sold Out until it was recently re-printed , the rest of the world might not have necessarily noticed…

Having grown up with an open mind when it comes to color , beauty to me came from places all over the world, there was never a”color of boy”I could not date,  he just  had to not be pierced and tattoed ( hey they had to forbid something!)….Nevertheless, The photography and editorials were great! 

But then again, for a much as I love the idea..I hope that women of any race will not wait for a mainstream publication to feature them to truly feel beautiful and accepted by society…Or is it too late for that?

You can be blue, purple or green ….Beauty is Beauty!
