Just received images of M.O.B.’s Spring 2009 collection and am BEEyond ecstatic to see that the crew is joining forces with Kid Sister!!! It’s a match that’s feels  good like dark skinny jeans and a fresh pair of hightops, like a poppin’ manicure and 14K gold jewelry…hell, like sex with a man whose package feels so custom it’s scary.

Kudos to designer Leah McSweeney for continuing to upgrade her design and graphics game. I know I gush about this woman all the time, but I’ve been in this game for a minute and know no one who brings  it better.

Many more after the jump…..

Highsnobette, Olsenhaus Footwear

Olsenhaus, a vegan footwear company has mastered a look that walks the line between outrageous and classic. The colors are unexpected and the lines are simple…a classic pump in a paint splattered butter yellow? Yes please! My favorite is their bootie in an electric blue, and while my bank account definitely doesn’t approve of me buying yet another pair of shoes the vegan aspect is that feel good kick I needed to justify my spending.

Check out more from Olsenhaus after the jump.

Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2009: Better

29 January 2009, 16.58 | Posted in Couture, Fashion | No comments »

Who doesn’t love Jean Paul the man? Still, the nagging sense that’s he’s struggled over the years to recreate the magic of the 90s remains. No doubt this issue is in part connected to cash, which is critical to building a brand’s coolness cache . My guess is that Jean Paul doesn’t have as much of it as some of the other titans of the business.  Alas, life is anything but fair. That being said, his latest collection was lovely to look at…

Jethro Cave: Bad Seed Rising

I couldn’t helped but be completely transfixed by this photo (via Jak&Jil) of Jethro Cave, who was modeling during men’s fashion week in Paris.  Some of our readers no doubt remember the days when Jethro’s daddy, Nick, was just about as “it” a rocker as you could get, with his super sexy song “Deanna.” And while there’s nothing like the original, I’d say Jethro is not bad for up-and-coming rock royalty (though he mostly gets slammed in the comments section under image!).

Flatte Black By Knockout

knockout matte black Flatte Black By Knockout

When the weather changes in NYC like clockwork most nails get dark ,lately it’s been a kind of dark eggplant. Here is an even edgier option Flatte Black by Knock Out:

“Mike Potter, an NYC makeup artist who spent years putting ebony nail polish on big stars (Karen O.) and big screens (Hedwig and the Angry Inch), couldn’t find a truly matte version without any gleam or gloss, so he created Knock Out cosmetics. His addictive Flatte Black nail paint is shiny when wet but dries sans shimmer with one coat. (Imagine the look of fresh charcoal.)”
