Dana Lorenz created Fenton in 2005 and it immediately became a success. Big names like Barneys in New York and Ikram in Chicago picked up the line in its first season!
Dona’s talent in this over saturated accessories world is her flawless use of materials seldomly used together like snakeskin, pearls, ribbon and studs(above), and her ability to design jewelry that is classic, edgy and at the same time, somewhat random(which we love), but never clumsy. Fenton Spring/ Summer 09 is HighSnobette approved !
Ps. Also check out Dana’s other line Fallon–hawt !!!

Gabrielcorto Moltedo (above), an heir to the Bottega Veneta empire, has garnered quite a following with his superb handbag line, Corto Moltedo . To celebrate the label’s five years, he recently opened his own store in the Palais Royale Arcades in Paris. From what we can see, the design of the store is simple and sleek, allowing the customer to focus on the object of their lust, the handbags. Highlighting the product is always a good aspect to develop in store design!

Cosmic Wonder, the label created by Yukinori Maeda in 1997, continues to be a sourse of inspiration for fashion that goes beyond just style, trend, and wearability, but ventures into art, concept and novelty. The Petrol Leather Leggings are some of the most pratical leggings I have seen in a while, fixing the sometimes real issue of layering over-the-knee boots over thick pants. Available at Seven New York.

This spring Temperley London sent their models down the runway in super feminine, flowing dresses drenched in ruffles and floral prints paired with tough, leather accessories and menswear pieces. The combination was explosive and I can honestly say I would wear every look in the collection. The standout piece was the studded star belt for sure…paired with the Grecian goddess inspired dresses and frilly rompers it brings the perfect slice of edge to spring.

John Galliano can do no wrong. Dior’s Haute Couture Spring 2009 collection is sheer perfection. With oversized feathered hats and voluminous ball gowns fit for Scarlett O’Hara, the line had a southern peach meets Little Bo Peep feel. The color palate was delicious and an obvious homage to Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer, who he has cited as his inspiration for the collection. Even with all of the sculptural elements, Galliano managed to make the expansive skirts and billowing sleeves look light as air.

You see Armani and most of the time you can’t help but think red carpet. Actresses like him ’cause his designs look the money and he’s chic but not so much so that you’re ever gonna find yourself caught out there in one of his gowns. For his Spring 2009 showing, you can still envision a lot of the dresses he showed all over the Oscars, but there was something wicked around the edges about the collection, brought forth by the make-up, hair and of course the accessories.

Here’s a look at one of my favorite labels out of Sweden Cheap Monday’ s Autumn/Winter 09 .Here’s what the designers had to say about their views and place in the market:
“After five years our idea still remains: to offer the customer fashion at an extremely good price. By putting Cheap Monday alongside more expensive brands in good stores where we like to shop ourselves, we aim to create clothes that compete with high-end brands both in attitude and fashion level as well as in quality.”via berns

Betsey Johnson, Humberto Leon and Carol Lim of Opening Ceremony will be teaming up to collaborate on the reinvention of 35 of her pieces from her early days. Titled the “Betsey Johnson Archive”, the line will go up for sale come Fall in limited Opening Ceremony shops as well as some of Betsey’s own boutique. I’m guessing the line will have an overall rock and roll feel. Betsey is now known for her over the top, girlie girl cocktail dresses, however she was once a force to be reckoned with on the NYC punk scene and she even designed“punk label” years ago.
Highsnobette will be sure to keep you updated on the Betsey J. and Opening Ceremony collabo.

Samia and I made a visit to Yana Handbags headquarters in SoHo yesterday to chat up the desiger and to see what she has in the works. Chicago-born and FIT-schooled Yana has been in the bag business for a minute, but it was the launch of her Keepin It Real fanny pac bag that upped her buzz ampage big time. The lambskin bag’s standout feature is Yana’s signature doorknocker earring (and don’t any of you try and steal it either because I WILL call you out on that ish!), a custom designed, gold-plated piece of hardware, which is featured on a couple of other bags as well.
Keepin' it oh so real!!! This is the line's most popular color.
I have one of these in tobacco (see next page) and I wore it for the first time last night. I must have hit the crack pipe one time too many ’cause somehow I left it in the front seat of my car after it had been belted around my body all night! The only thing I forgot to do was affix a giant “Please Steal Me” sign to it. Damn!
