Electric Feathers at Phillips De Pury

feather 1mini 540x303 Electric Feathers at Phillips De Pury

Electric Feathers, the label created by the the lovely Leana Zuniga, launched a collection of one of a kind, hand-made pieces available at Philips de Pury.  Most of Leana’s Zuniga’s pieces adapt to the wearer’s interpretation allowing a level of self expression that is strong and subtle at the same time. Electric Feathers marks Phillips de Pury’s foray into the presentation of apparel and accessories  in an auction format, where each piece is indeed a collectible.

MIA at the 2009 Grammys: Part Two

mia 3 2 1 MIA at the 2009 Grammys: Part Two

Another look at our beloved MIA, who added a great dose of fun and  playfulness to the otherwise almost boring red carpet, which is looking too much like the Oscars. What happened to the days when you looked forward to seeing how cool/funky/daring  your favorite bands and singers would be?

More of the very cute and pregnant MIA and Benjamin Brewer, who apparently did not leave her side.

Jeremy Scott at Colette

Highsnobette-Jeremy Scott @ Colette

If Marie Antoinette had spent her youth as a club kid in the 80’s she would have sported every piece in Jeremy Scott’s Spring/Summer 2009 runway show. Personally, I would wear every look as well and lucky for me (and you) Colette has a few pieces up for sale. My favorite is this unitard covered in roses… and airplanes?  Scott has a way of merging styles that normally wouldn’t mesh and he somehow pulls it off brilliantly.

Head over to Colette for more from this collection and hit up the jump for more detailed photos.

An Ode to No One Autumn/Winter 2009

Highsnobette- An Ode to No One

An ode to no one is a label to to watch. Their Autumn/Winter line is filled with edgy cropped jackets and streamlined jersey pieces. However, it’s the classic little black dress that An Ode to No One really has a handle on, with numerous versions popping up throughout the collection. I love  any garment that looks easy to wear yet still glamorous at the same time. This juxtaposition of sex appeal and comfort is followed through in the rest of the line as well.

Check our more from An Ode to No One after the jump.

Alexis Mabille Bow Corset

Highsnobette-Alexis Mabille Bow Corset

People can’t seem to stop talking about Alexis Mabille. A new comer to the Paris fashion scene, Mabille’s collections are killing it!  Over the top glamour seems to be a reoccurring theme but he mixes it up with some campy, girlish accents. This corset covered in bows is a great summarization of the subtle sexiness of his line. The muted palette takes on a different perspective when you attach super sized bows to a lingerie inspired corset top. It’s a reigned in, wearable couture and Highsnobette will be sure to keep an eye out for more from the ultra talented Alexis Mabille.

Kaylee Tankus Spring/Summer 2009

Highsnobette-Kaylee Tankus s/s 09

Kaylee Tankus brings us her Spring/Summer 2009 collection. The aesthetic is clean and modern and layering is the line’s obvious strong point. It is certainly tough to pull off a look that is so laid back but could still work for evening events and Kaylee Tankus has nailed it right on the head. I love her black split personality pants; MC hammer on top and extremely skinny pant on bottom, a combination that normally would have me running for the hills now has me singing its praises.

Fergie and Kim K at Posh Vanity Fair Event

fergkim Fergie and Kim K at Posh Vanity Fair Event

Not sure what the reason for this Vanity Fair magazine gathering was, but judging from how everyone was dressed, it was a pretty highfalutin affair. I couldn’t help but notice that the party included two women who have been featured in our “Guess the Celebrity Rack” stories–that being Keyshia Cole and Kim Kardashian. Kim looks great here. She may make her share of mistakes, but one thing she knows how to do well is play up her ASSets and sultry Armenian good looks. Fergie on the other hand, I’m not so sure about. This dress I’m not feeling. It’s got a sort of Century 21 Edge to it that’s bugging me. I love the Fergster as a preformer and an entertainer but I’m never sure what style lane she’s shooting for. She confuses me and not in a good way!

On the flip is Fergie and Kehshia, whose dress also bugged me. From the front it was insanely busy and worse yet, you could only see her lovely boobies from the side!
