Yes, the Olympics is supposed to be about beautiful, incredible athletic performances but we can’t help but notice when the players put some of their personal style on display. Thus, this eye-catching shot of Sanya Richards-Ross, flashing a bright pink red Nike top, bottom and tiger-stripe arm sleeves, contrasted with flourescent green Nike Fly Knit track sneakers. This isn’t the outfit she wore when she won Olympic gold in the 400 meter yesterday, but it was almost as bright and fun.
And there’s an endearing back story, too. Richards-Ross was born in Jamaica and move to the United States at 12 to pursue a promising future as a runner, The winning of the gold was a huge accomplishment coming off of a disappointing finish in the Olympics four years ago when she ended up with the bronze.
Richards-Ross is married to Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Aaron Ross, who took time out from pre-season training to support his wife in London. He himself has won two Superbowl rings! Gotta luv the supportive power couple partnerships!
On the next page prepare for your heart to melt with an image of her smooching her man in the stands shortly after her victory.
