H&M x ‘Girl With Dragon Tattoo

27 October 2011, 15.14 | Posted in Uncategorized | 1 comment »

HMGirlWithTattoo 540x348 H&M x Girl With Dragon Tattoo

H&M is partnering on a capsule collection with the costume designer, Trish Summerville (that’s her in the above image front and center with the blonde mohawkish hair), for the flick Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, which opens in December. In the fashion world the movie has already received quite a bit of buzz because Rooney Mara one of the actresses appearing in the movie was featured on the cover of Vogue’s November issue.

As for the collection, it has that Alexander Wang/Balmain, downtown rock ‘n’ roll feel to it, which is hardly new, even for H&M, and yet it’s still a bit of a watershed moment to see this look officially packaged to go mass.

H&M x Versace Complete Collection!

20 October 2011, 13.30 | Posted in Designer Collaboration, Retail | 2 comments »

Images of the complete H&M x Versace have finally arrived, making up a collection that includes dresses, skirts, top, accessories (including leather choker necklaces!), scarves and even a couple of throw pillows. The items we posted here represent the standouts–the Versace skirt whose print speaks to the over-the-top Italian extravagence that is this brand’s signature and the Asian-inspired-design-on-black fabric that reflects the label’s talent for creating  amazing prints with searing color combinations.  Both of these items recall Gianni and what more could you ask for than that. Also worthy of note, the leather dress with studded details that’s already been shown quite a bit in magazine editorials and even worn by Anna Dello Russo.

H&M ‘Conscious Collection’ Hits Retail

10 October 2011, 17.05 | Posted in FASHION WITH A CONSCIENCE, Retail | 3 comments »

As part of its ongoing commitment to sustainability, H&M launches another “Conscious Collection,” parts of which hit retail this past week and is also available on line. Mother Earth-oriented or otherwise we tend to have an attitude toward H&M though we must admit this collection looks undeniably good. The dress here is made from woven, organic hemp and silk fabric and is priced at $79.99. See a lace dress and a very covetable frame bag on the next page.

UPDATE: As we all know, H&M stands for “Hit & Miss” as it applies to how the clothes look in real life as opposed to high-priced photo shoots. That being said I visited an H&M on Broadway in SoHo, last night, saw the collection and was even taken enough to try on a couple of pieces. And after waiting in line for 15 minutes for the dressing room and being subjected to a mirror whose lighting would make even Lara Stone cry, I still ended up liking the clothes I tried on. In other words, quality-wise the Conscious Collection is a “hit.” Not every garment but a lot combine decent quality and fit.

Even if we don’t tend to jump on the mass/designer bandwagon, declaring love at the news of them, we are still curious! Take a look at what Donatella and her team will  have in store for women in November. Spotted at stylepantry

Swedish Hasbeens X H&M Clog Collection

Clog makers Swedish Hasbeens are collaborating with H&M on a collection of clogs, we presume are for a Spring 2011 launch. Some of them, like the pair featured here are quite a fun departure from the classic clog profile this company has been known for. More on the next page. Via Popbee.

H&M x Fashion Blogger Elin Kling Collection Images

kling14 420x540 H&M x Fashion Blogger Elin Kling Collection Images

Available at select H&M locations in Sweden on February 3rd, is the 11 piece collection designed by “modebloggerska” Swedish fashion blogger Elin Kling . This marks the first time the mega brand  collaborates with a fashion blogger. Being totally biased  in my love of all things blogger related and my longtime love affair with Stockholm, I will admit that on a sleekness of fashion and simplicity of design this is probably my favorite H&M collaboration so far. Each one of the pieces easily find a home into any woman’s wardrobe. There’s nothing gimmicky or even super trendy about it , which I love! Then again it should not  really be a surprise considering Kling’s fashion cred .View the complete collection on the next page courtesy of Elin Kling.
