The latest advertisement-in-the-guise-of-a-an-arty-movie-short comes from Missoni. This one is by Kenneth Anger, an experimental film maker. And while I like that artsy film makers are getting work and being given an opportunity to have artistic influence on a large sale, I must say I am not so crazy about this trend and have yet to see an ad short I want to watch beginning to end.

Someone got my kid a subscription to Sports Illustrated (which he doesn’t read for the articles OR the pics….thanks for nothing Facebook!) so I got a firsthand look at the Swimsuit Issue, which I previewed some images from last week. I started scanning all sorts of pages, but they came out crappy and then I discovered that SI has tons, and I mean TONS, of shots up on its own site. So what the hell, I reduced everything down to this one sweet Missoni suit, which is modeled here by Jess Gomes. If you’re looking for ideas for a bikini, it’s a good place to start. The site even lists where you can buy them. Happy hunting, girls (and boys).

Italian brand Missoni has always been a favorite, especially in recent years again. Who would have thought that their knitted patterns look this cute on plush toys? They have released bears, rabbits and more, both in the form of larger plush toys and as key chains. Now available at colette.

One of the  positive effects of hard economic times might be that uncertainty  will allow  the big fashion houses and labels  with a long history to  focus on  refining their core competencies, and  provide highly covetable an wearable pieces, instead of venturing into unknown experimental territory.  That was the case for Missoni.  Designed by Angela Missoni,  Autumn/ Winter  2009  focused on the beauty of what Missoni is known for, intricately designed knits and patterns.

The hobo chic styling with multiple layers and hints of luxury with the addition of  gold jewelry, and gold heeled-stilettoes makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. Every single piece of this collection can be considered  a classic, timeless Missoni.

This Fall "conservative" is definitely  not in the vocabulary when we talk about accessories,and thankfully the buyers at Net-a-Porter never hesitate on the edgy standout pieces that make fashion so irresistible…

This piece By Missoni is a reminder of what great accessories can do for an outfit, granted if you rock anything more than a C-cup this might not be the  look for you…

Okay, so maybe I’m not smart enough to like Balenciaga (Heh–I had a feeling you had a thing for them, Samia!), but I was able to guess that Kim Kardashian was wearing Missoni to the opening of the MGM Grand. Lol, granted its trademark rick rack pattern is easier to spot than a Burberry plaid, but I’ll take my victories however they come!

How did I know my guess was correct? Another one of our fine readers (thanks, Ilana!), natch, sent us a link to video in which Kimmy is interviewed about buying the dress on Ebay. Her segement starts at 2.33.
