ModelizingPradaKittenHeels Prada Patent Leather Kitten Heels Autumn 2010

These patent leather Prada kitten heels were recently shot in a Manhattan window by Julia Chesky.  She wasn’t into them, which is the opposite of me. I know some fashion folks are put off by the return of the classic kitten, but me personally I already have a pair and am looking forward to all the new interpreations.  These right here are a step in the right direction.

PradaFantasy Prada Fantasy Lookbook Fall/Winter 2010

Way behind on this, but here is a shot from Prada’s “Fantasy Lookbook” for Fall/Winter 2010. Apparently this is not by any means the first one, which I did not know because I am far from being a Prada fanatic. There’s about a million more pages, which you can find on FashionCopious.

Dazed&Confused2

Big name models are back in style, as if you didn’t already know, and it looks like part of the ushering in of the new era involves giving a nod to those from the old guard. The August issue of Dazed & Confused magazine features an amazingly shot (Roe Ethridge) and styled (Katie Skillingford) editorial, featuring Alek Wek, Julia Stegner, Tasha Tilberg, Christina Kruse, Hannelore Knuts, Ana Beatriz Barros and Karolina Kurkova. The shot on this page features Alek Wek in a Balmain dress, Prada shos and an Atsuko Kudo latex glove. All via FashionGoneRogue.

After the flip see Stegner in a Comme de Garcon plaid top, Jeremy Scott boots and an Alexis Bittar spike ring, plus a close-up on Kurkova wearing butterfly eyebrow extensions.

CamillaAkrans Superwoman Shoes Shot By Camilla Akrans

Found these shoes, which have me humming Alicia Keyes’ “Superwoman….yes I am” over at my new favorite blog, Fashiontography. They’re shot by Camilla Akrans for Self Service magazine. Unfortunately no credit is given to the designer so I’m calling on all my fashion geeks so I can give proper representation!

UPDATE: Cecilia in the comments tells us these are Prada, Fall 08. You guys should go check out her site, Mymagicdiary, which includes a line of accessories she designs….she has some very cute items!

V Magazine: Colored Eyebrows

V66KarolinaClose V Magazine: Colored Eyebrows

With all the emphasis on bright eye liner, it’s not surprising that some of that color has migrated to the eyebrows, a fresh look that I adore even more than the Crayola-colored locks trend. This image is from V Magazine’s “Woman in Full” editorial and once again, the emphasis is on more voluminous 50s-inspired looks. I’m trying not to be bitter because personally this is one of my least favorite fashion eras. My theory is that designers are looking to reset the bar in an effort to shift away from punky looks, but I don’t see it working because it’s too violent of a swing. More likely I see women shifting over to trousers and the like–at least that’s what I hope anyway! Down with the oppresive, styfling and hypocritical ’50s!

Models featured in the shoot are Miranda Kerr (wearing Prada), Karolina Kurkova (wearing Yves Saint Laurent and Celine) and Jacquelyn Jablonski (wearing Valentino and Calvin Klein Collection).  More looks after the flip.

Amanda Kerr For Prada Autumn Ad Campaign

Prada Campaign 06 Amanda Kerr For Prada Autumn Ad Campaign

As photographed by Steve Meisel, model Miranda Kerr will be the face of Prada’s Autumn ad campaign, which takes its inspiration from what has become an important fashion trend this year–a look back on the dark side of the ’50s. This a big deal for Kerr as it’s a big marker in her slow but steady crossover from lad’s model to super model status.

More images after the flip.

VogueJulyOprahGaga Oprah & Gaga July Vogue

Vogue’s July issue features coverage of the The Costume Institute’s Ball, of which Oprah is co-chair. The article opens with a two-page spread of Oprah and Gaga, featured here, as photographed by Mario Testino. Sadly, this scan is doing eye-popping image no justice. And not for nothing but Oprah’s makeup (by Derrick Rutledge) and boobs (from good eating?) are amaaaaazing! She’s wearing Oscar de la Renta and Lady Gaga is wearing Prada. Via Gagalicious.

MiuMiu-Inspired Manicure: Sick!!!!

PradaNailArt MiuMiu Inspired Manicure: Sick!!!!

Everytime I visit 2BD, there’s also something that stops me in my tracks, but this manicure [UPDATE: As a couple of our readers--thanks guys--have pointed out, this is Miu-Miu-inspired, not Prada] they featured was a jaw-dropper.  Watching the way nail art has evolved and grown over the past couple of years has been pretty amazing and definitely more dynamic/fun than other aspects of fashion.

Prada ‘Canapa’ Collection: Spring 2010

Prada4 Prada Canapa Collection: Spring 2010

A look at Prada’s spring/summer 2010 collection, featuring its Canapa bags.  Not exactly sure if the collection is named that or if it refers to the material since canapa translated from italian to english simply means hemp.  Anyway, love the shape as I generally find tote-type bags to be too boxy or rather rectangular.

Thanks to Karl Hab for the send!
