 My watch loving  self was really excited to read british GQ ’s feature of what they judged to be the  world’s best watches, and the brands that made them. One of the watches we featured made the list, the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak (hooray!) The selection ranges from top level luxury brands like    Vacheron Constantin and Girard Perregaux , to very current models by Tommy Hilfiger and Citizen. Check out the entire  featured here.

Having been around since 1850, Waltham is one of America’s oldest watch companies. Hoping to revamp the company a bit, Waltham has been releasing some very currant and very hip new styles. 2009 brings us the Lady Amelia timepiece, a watch from their woman’s collection named for the infamous female pilot Amelia Earhart. A pale pink color and rubber band help lend to a more sporty look while the face and details such as pink cabochons create a femininity. Much like Amelia herself this timepiece is bit rebellious, both rugged and elegant at the same time.

Manish Arora A/W '09 via Elle UK

After his collaborations with Mac Cosmetics and Reebok, The very colorful Manish Arora will put his design stamp  on Swatch Watches. The designs  will be inspired by amar chitra katha comics, pop-art elements, swarovski crystals and dance mudras. The limited edition Swatch and  Manish Arora watches launch in April ‘09.

The Bell & Ross watch company is really only as old as 1992 compared to the icons of luxury timepieces that are as old 1700’s . Nonetheless they provide a sleek modern design that the watchsnob in me can fully appreciate.

If you’ve read us for a while you know that I love high end men’s designer timepieces.I  admit to being a total snob at least in that category.Here’s a look at the Tsovet Svt-At76,the perfect daytime watch.My fave features:Rose gold name plate and buckle.The brown leather band with orange backing.It’s water resistant ,has a hardened mineral crystal dial.It’s scratch resistant and only 25 were made!

The watch snob in me has to share with you this beauty! The Dior Homme Chiffre Rouge 103 Gold Automatic. There is something old-school , thoroughly classy and sexy about a nice men’s yellow  gold watch that platinum, titanium and even white gold never attain.On a woman’s wrist it’s like ” I got  it like that ” Timeless.  I picked out two of my faves from Swiss Army’s Special Edition watches.Great features,design and durability as always. Swiss Army is one of those labels to watch.Under the radar in the US they have launched an apparel line  for men and women that stays true to who they are, don’t know how it s selling but I like it alot. The men’s  watches tough have won my heart along ago.

The Breil Milano watches have a much longer history than I previously believed,making them of course Highsnobette worthy.The Eros above stopped me for a minute,love the design and the colors of course.Nowadays money is getting too rare to spluge on trends and watch  brands that came from nowhereand have no real craftmanship values… I can’t get into the watches that look like they came off of a value meal,I know you have seen them!whether they speak to you ar calculate your heart rate, no me importa…classic high end men’s watches are where it’s at for me…

As much as I can be a Snob about watches with hundreds of years of history,there is a crop of high end "boutique" watches, that are  making their mark as luxury Timepieces. One of them is Tsovet, whose quality ,craftamanship and design ,intergrates the "styling of engineered industrial tools,motor gauges and avionic instruments" while  remaining  sleek and sexy…that’s vital in my book…
