Inspired by the digital video game Second Life, Creative Director Kate McCollough worked out a two-minute clip to present the Autumn collection 2012 of Proenza Schouler in a digitalized version. The team at Proenza forwent traditional models in favor of female avatars from the video game and made them behave and dance like anything but not like real humans would do.
The final product is a conglomeration of weirdness, as so many things are going wrong at once that it is somehow quite a true performance.

The RSA Shorts as produced by the London-based RSA organization is a collection of videos that take a “big idea,” and bring it to life with narrated illustration and animation. This short, titled “The Power of Quiet,” takes on the concept of introverts and extroverts and examines the tendency society has to favor extroverts over introverts. In one segment the narrator states,
“If you take a group of people and put them into a meeting and have them talk about something, the opinions of the loudest person or the most charismatic or most assertive person those are the ones that the group tends to follow. And yet, researchers have looked at this, there’s no correlation between being that best talker and having the best ideas. Like, zero correlation. I think that we’re living in a society now that is so overly extroverted.”
The video goes on to advocate for the peaceful co-existence of introverts and extroverts, serving up by way of example Apple Computer, as invented up by self-identified introvert Steve Wozniak who partnered with “dazzling showman” Steve Jobs to turn his idea into a business. In the end of this captivating piece, the narrator notes that the two personality types are “really drawn to each other and really need each other.”
It’s a heartening piece for the quiet creators who in general feel shunted aside but also fun to mull as it relates to the fashion world, a place in which many of the business’s most extroverted designers are often backed by quiet and steady backers–think Marc Jacobs and Robert Duffy.
