Here are some favorite looks from day four and five of the Swimwear Fashion Show, whcih was held in Miami and ended Monday. Cia Maritima (shown above) and Lisa Blue stood out for their colorful prints, and Shay Todd receives points for sophisticated suits that can do double time as tops.

The idea of a swimdress never crossed my mind, but thankfully it has Norma Kamali’s, giving us an excuse to channel the inner Gaga and Rihanna no-pants look when we’re  miles away from any body of water. Available at Net-a-porter.

The choice of cotton is giving us more reasons to wear this one piece with shorts or a skirt on one of those balmy days. The red thread gives a a fun vintage feel that we find very appropriate. Available at Net -a-porter.

This is model Britney Harris in attendance at the Bikini Swim Club, apparently some big outdoor pool party held in various locations. Harris was present at the San Diego version, hosted by King magazine this past Saturday, featuring Candy Coated Swimwear. All that being said, the turquoise blue is basically perfect against her skin. The sunglass guy with the beard and cycling cap (!) in the background….not so much!

The “Appolonia” one piece by House of Jackie Brown puts a capital “s” in sexy swimwear. Of course it’s inpired by the legenday Appolonia whose video we featured earlier. Available at Djpremium.View in various angles on the flip.

We’re totally disregarding the fact that this is a reversible one-piece swimsuit and advocate for rocking the above with a vintage pair of flares or even bell bottom denim. Graffinis   limited edition shadow one piece available at Sugarcookies. View on a model on the flip.

You could wear this Free People “Baysider” one-piece suit on the beach or after at the bar with a pair of white jeans. It’s lined where it counts but shear elsewhere.

Forget the standard pareo or even the caftan and pump up the volume on the boardwalk with this lace cover up. Could just be our love of lingerie but lace over a bikini looks really good. Via net-a-porter.

With Alexander Wang’s collections, one finds oneself hunting for the iconic, season-defining item/s. For a while its been the bags, but for resort it just might be the athletically stylish swimsuits, which the label recently announced the launch of, though it could also be the adorable short-sleeved anorak jackets with check details, both of which are featured above.
