We are always up for some styling inspiration, especially on a Monday. UK-based Ln-cc shares with us it latest lustworthy apparel looks, now available in store. The breezy “Damir Doma” pants combined with a “Martina Spetlova” leather jacket above are a favorite. See more on the next page.
Artist Lichiban, based in New York and born Hungary, recently flexed her creative muscle with the launch of her new company, Katapulko Interiors: apARTment, a new interior design venture. The project is a marriage of her career as a visual artist in New York and a longtime passion for interior design seeded in her childhood homeland.Check it out here.-Diana McClure.
While at Project in Las Vegas last week, we could not help but notice the eminent presence of Disruptive Pattern Material (DPM) commonly called camouflage. As a fan of anything camo, I can say that it’s one of those iconic urban prints that has become a modern classic interpreted by high-end fashion houses and mass merchants alike. It’s not new per se, nonetheless having spotted it worn countless times in the span of three days as well as in a subsection of the show curated by Nick Wooster, it is fair to say that not only is army surplus back on the rise but camo will see a bigger presence in apparel this fall.

The Snobettes have a wide appreciation for style that is of course not limited by gender. Hence our appreciation for menswear. While at Project in New York we stole some pieces from the men’s brands and had some of the cool women working at the show rock some looks. Enjoy a look at Hana from Nutty Rice. On the next page get a closer look and details shot by the fantastic on-site team of Sandbox Studio and styled by Highnobette .
While we love the picture and consider ourselves in appreciation of Ms. Badu’s irreverent style, the henna design on her leg is really a highlight. Living in a little Pakistan enclave in Brooklyn, we’ve been blessed to be able to rock some pretty fierce Mehndi designs. Check out Erykah Badu’s video interview on the flip, a close-up of the leg design and the full interview here.
Glamour just posted this but we had to snatch for our site because it made us laugh and laugh and laugh. Man Repeller, aka Leandra Medine, it is hard to say which you are more of–fashionable or hysterically funny. Watch Medine as she responds to questions like whether she does yoga, her most repellent outfit ever, woman repellers (answer: “capris cargo shorts, Crocs, short-sleeeved checkered shirts, popping double collars, anything on the Jersey Shore”), who should get man-repeller of the year award, and more!
UPDATE: There is another, longer video shot at the same time (both by Bluefly) of Medine going through her closet. It’s equally funny….and stylish.
I always wondered about the times in New York I see in movies when the sight of a subway passenger walking aound with a boom box on his shoulder was common. A part of me wishes commuting was done to a cool beat. Imagine Sade or some slick Jobim playing on the A train during rush hour? Anyway, I say all this to bring your attention to these awesome suitcases re- purposed into something called a “Boom Case.” It was hard to pick a favorite, but the black “Stealthy Business” (above) is just too boss to ignore. Plus you can have the cases customized with an iPod slot(!) Take a look at some faves on the flip, all available here, spotten at Twbe (gracias).
