Last week Levi’s unveiled their brand new concept store in New York’s Meat Packing District . In a rustic space, the iconic brand exhibited a portion of its heritage with various Levi’s archive items. Current collections, like the brand’s collaboration with Pendleton were also shown. Limited-edition items, including archival 501 re-issues from the hard-to-get Levi’s Vintage Clothing collection will be available for sale, as well as non Levi’s products like field notes notebooks, red toe socks and much more.
The store also houses a denim tailor for on site denim repairs. On the next page a look at the opening festivities which featured an energetic performance by the one and only Vivian Girls.

With a flawless assortment of some of our favorite labels and designers, Late Night Chameleon Cafe opened its online store recently. As the name illustrates the LN-CC concept is ever evolving into art, fashion and music. The brick-and-mortar, 6000 sq. ft. store, set to open late this October in London, will also be a blank canvas for visitors to interpret , share and congregate. On the next page enjoy a look at some of the the women’s styles they have online.

Selfridges London has recently unveiled the world’s largest shoe department. Spanning across 35,000 square feet, it will be home to more than 4,000 pairs of shoes from 120 brands. It has been three years in the planning and by the looks of it the wait has been worth it. It will also stock 30 exclusive styles specially commissioned by Selfridges. If you are going to attempt to look around the fortress of sling backs, kitten heels, killer heels and everything else in between, I suggest you wear some comfortable shoes, it may take you a while. Was wondering where the heck NY fashion photographer Julia Chesky was an it turns out she moved recently and got hit by a double whammy of Mercury retrograde. Anyway, her windows are back, including this image from the freshly relaunched SoHo Chanel store. What’s great about Chesky, too, is she’s willing to have an opinion and she does a hilarious rant on some other SoHo windows:
Let’s not even touch the merchandising fail going on with some places just yet. I think Soho and I might end our evening attempts and stick to random fun day shots because this made me sad, Boston Newbury Street sad. New York, we cannot be on the same level of Boston. That’s just blasphemy! No offense to my Boston readers.
See one of the J.Crew window she has ish with on the next page. Not sure if J.Crew meant to make its female mannequin look like it was sort of packing, but I doubt it!

The latest window displays by Louis Vuitton at their flagship store on Bond Street, London, do not disappoint. The windows are furnished with ostrich eggs and the odd egg hatching every few days to reveal the latest products in store. Via Thecoolhunter.co.uk. ZJK.

NY-based photographer Julia Chesky had a dream-come-true moment with the recent opening of Lanvin’s first NY store, for which she photographed both both interior and exterior shots. Normally she doesn’t get past the glass windows so judging from her comments the new perspective was an eye-opening one. Our favorite images were the ones like this one that zeros in on details and take us out of the display. One thing that’s so often missed with lux lines whether the images are taken from runways or storefront or magazine editorials is the beautiful detailing that goes into the products themselves or the background items used to enhance the setting. That’s why close-ups of bags, shoes, accessories, and make-up are golden–we rarely get them. More at Chesky’s blog, Modelizing.

We stumbled on this marvelous boutique while strolling in Sag harbor this past weeek-end and had to share it with you. Based on the concept of holistic living, WellNest, a newly-opened store, features in-house wellness products by Dr. Richard Ash, cold pressed juices by Organic Avenue (too delicious for words) , eco-friendly house wares and, Le Labo fragrances and accessories! We could not stop fiending over October Anniversary chunky rings, Catherine Michiels bracelets, lovely frames by Urban Spectacles and many more other eco conscious brands. The setting is modern, minimal, rustic and cozy at the same time, and once you walk in, you find it very hard to leave… On the next page a few images by Racked that are much better than the ones we took.
