Vans was previewing its spring 2008 line today at its New York showroom and I got a chance to go over there and scope out the goods. I picked out my faves and then Maria, who reps the women’s part of Vans’ line, showed me the stuff she thought would be a big hit this spring. Which ones are YOUR faves?:
Mine first:

^^Wellesley high-tops: I’m still loving the look of a pair of high-tops with straight legs and they don’t come much more adorable than these. I especially like the strawberry-colored ones on the far right.

^^From the Vault collection: this one is a collabo with Detroit artist Niagara; again, I’m partial to these ’cause they’re high.

^^A canvas slip-on from the Vault Niagara series. This one reads “I Am Not Your Bitch.”

One more Vault Niagara: “You’ll Tell Nobody Nothing.”
Maria thinks a big trend this spring is going to be more streamlined looks. Here are some of the shoes that are getting a big response from retailers (not that ones above aren’t; Maria thinks hightops are the hotness, too):

^^Pointy-toed ballet flats. The prints on these are really amazing.

^^Satin boat shoes. These images do NOT do these extra cute shoes justice (especially since the red one is out of focus, dammit!).

^^Low profile canvas group. The colors, patterns and fabrics are what help Vans stand out from the crowd. Plus, the little Vans logo is pretty happening, too!

^^Sk-8 Hi in white canvas. Maria said that this style, which, while not new, is consistently popular among stylists requesting products for shoots. I mean, how can you beat an all white classic? Every sneaker brand of any merit can claim one. The ones that can’t? Well, they’re just not as good.
I hope you liked!
