Nike has certainly made Flyknit one of their highlight product stories of the year. The next generation of the Flyknit updates with some tweaks on detailing and will hit stores in February 2013. During the Nike Flyknitraverun event in Berlin we got the chance to take a first look at the new designs as shown above and on the next page.

For Holiday 2012 Converse launches its first String Standards and Premium collection featuring the Chuck Taylor All Star Bosey, Auckland Racer and Jack Purcell. Our attention is on the All Star Glitz featuring a sequined wool upper, leather binding on the toe cap and a satin finish. Just the right amount of flash and glamour for the holiday season. The Premium is now available globally at specialty retailers, department stores and from Converse.com.

Catching up on another showroom visit and building on our last sneaker post, we present Asics’ sneaker offerings for Spring 2013. This is a brand we feel that has had great traction as a performance brand in the United States but is a bit more niche here as a lifestyle brand, whereas in Europe it has well-established credentials as both a fashion and performance item. For those of you who love the brand’s aesthetic no doubt you’ll appreciate the return of the always popular Liberty print (above), available in Asics retro hi or low silhouette.

As sneaker afficianados, myself and SGP were excited to visit Puma’s New York showroom yesterday and see what it had in the works for Spring 2013. For all the celebration of sneakers these days, a lot of the focus is Nike, Nike-owned Converse, Adidas and Vans. All three companies do amazing work, but it’s awesome to see a variety of offerings, especially from an athletic shoe house as iconic and legendary as Puma (you know the story of Puma and Adidas being founded by rivaling brothers, correct?) We were delighted to see Puma has plenty to offer including its take on the now booming wedge sneaker trend (see above). The brand is all over the color trend, too, offering sorbet-inspired, color-blocked shoes in a variety of silhouettes, plus some more neutral shades for those of you who want a more grown and sexy looking shoe. Look for most of these to drop in February of next year, though some will hit before Christmas at Puma.

The idea of sneaker jewellery is one of my quiet obsessions. From wanting to use chains as laces to wishing that Sabrina Dehoff’s pieces  for Nike were still available, my love of bling for sneakers has never left. Happily these charms by Sneaker Crowns, might just give me the fix I’ve been craving. We announced the arrival of the adidas Originals Consortium womens capsule collection together with Sneakerstuff and WoodWood about a month ago. Today, we have detailed images of the sneaker pack, including three stylish silhouettes of the Gazelle Vintage (Wood Wood), ZX 700 (Sneakersnstuff) and Basket Profi (adidas Originals). The look and feel of each shoe is considered, and as always with Consortium, construction and high quality materials are fundamental. From luxurious animal print and tactile cracked leather to open collar construction, it’s all in the detail. All models and more angles on the flip.

The Acne Jordan hiking boots are the best example how to add some easiness to the usually so sturdy shoes. The boots feature sneaker elements but come with a robust and durable tracking sole, all rounded down in an exciting clash of materials and textures. More angles on the filp.

In an initiative to highlight the new Betwixt mid silhouette, Reebok collaborated with sneaker lover Ugly Mely on personalized version .Using purple and letting her love of cycling flow in, the sneakers are bright and of course fun. It’s already the sixth season that luxury brand Missoni teamed up with streetwear label Converse. This time on a special edition of the iconic Pro Leather and Auckland Racer shoe designs. The unisex collection will include twenty deadstock fabrics that will be sold exclusively at colette in Paris starting this Friday.
