Designer Matthew Williamson drops plenty of color, abstract detailing and geometric patterns in his footwear collection for  Spring/Summer 2013 season. With an incredible eye for detail, the offerings include a fabulous variation of shoes including sandals, heels and flats that will no doubt be trend setters.

As we all know many or even most of the interesting designers these days prefer to stay anonymous, trying to express their identity and character through their creations. All the more we are pleased  to see one of the few remaining  giving us an insight into his work and world. The Selby just published a beatuiful spread showing French show designer Christian Louboutin at his house and studio in Paris.

Prada’s statement piece for Spring 2013–a sequin platform sandal featuring gold patent leather straps. Defiantly different from last Spring’s much-celebrated car shoe, but still just as much fun. Via Saks.

Mark 2013 as the year of the platform oxford, originating in equal parts from a mash up of men’s vintage-looking oxfords, creepers and platform sneakers (a la East Village Shoe Repair in NYC). Above is Madwell’s version, called the “Lord” platform oxford, created in collaboration with French label Sessun. The shoes are also available in black here.

Recently spotted on the always on point Style Bubble, is this short film titled “The Student,” highlighting the collaboration between the iconic Dr. Martens and menswear label A. Sauvage. It’s a collection after our own menswear-loving hearts featuring as it does a trio of oxfords we find highly covetable. All slick in black patent, navy leather with a white sole and a silk Kente pattern–a nod to designer Adrien Victor Sauvage’s Ghanaian roots.
