Christian Louboutin lightens its look for Resort 2013 with clean shoe and bag silhouettes whose color palettes range from the laid-back grey shown above to Louboutin’s signature eye-popping pinks. And of course the collection is not without its dramatic moments–on the next page check out the Tosca sandal, a sky-high wedge featuring ethnic fabrics and trims. If I were to put together my own “favorite things” for 2012, something from the Valentino Rockstud collection would have to be on the list (as evidenced here). As such, I was delighted to see while leafing through my Bergdorf Goodman Resort Collections magazine that Valentino is continuing the collection for Resort 2013. Often designers believe that have to jump to the next new thing so it’s a relief  to see a designer find new interpretations of a genius idea rather than abandon it in the name of staying relevant.

In my mind mules have to be one of the sexiest women’s footwear silhouettes allowing for legs and ankles to not be contrived in any way plus they make you bring out that Naomi walk .As cool as they are very few brands have them as standards in their collections,  as footwear trends have gone in so many directions for the past decade. Gladly,  Lucas Nascimento collaborated with shoe designer Charkiviani on these mules we had to pause and admire. See the angles on the flip and purchase in Navy or Black at Ln-cc.

If you have visited New York’s Bergdorf Goodman department store, you know it’s akin to visiting a sort of “now” museum, with all the runways’ most gorgeous offerings in full bloom and artfully displayed in an array of shops dedicated to expressing each label to the fullest. It was unknown to me until I made a purchase there in the Spring, that Bergdorf’s makes a seasonal catalog, which is full of its most tempting items, all beautifully photographed. Get your hands on the Autumn issue, titled “111 Years of Extraordinary” or view it here online, and see if you don’t often find it loads better than anything the major books offered up for their big September issue.

The latest catalog includes the above image (scanned by moi), showing a Christian Louboutin sandal, described as  ”ankle-strap d’orsay platform pumps in black suede with dyed pink mink fur heel cap,” or in other words “heaven in a shoe.” Find the CL shoe for purchase here.
