Prada Launches Spring 2011 Footwear Online

prada e-store

Taking on another dimension to their web retailing, Prada launches Spring 2011 footwear on their e-store today. Interestingly enough the very coveted Spring 2011 creepers in tobacco we hear  are already sold out, while the black and blue ones are still available. I for one loved seeing the look of creepers with dresses, oddly reminds me of Olive Oyl,  and in fashion dreams where I’m just a wee bit statuesque I do rock them like no other.  Nonetheless, the woven styles above will do just fine.

On the very real side of fashion as a business,  big corporations like Urban Outfitters are known for many things. On the Snob side of things not all the descriptive terms to define them would be  flattering. However, its recent initiative  “Designed By..” which highlights a select group of  talented and sought after  designers, we see a step in the right direction. The capsule collections features brands like like Billy Kirk, Yaya Alflalo, our beloved A Peace Treaty and many more. Enjoy the clip and view the collections here.

FafiChanelColette (3)

Colette launched its pop-up shop with Colette last week and we noticed that among planned events was an appearance by artist Fafi to customize Chanel bags. As delightful a match as Chanel and Colette are, adding artist Fafi to the mix is liking adding hot fudge to the sundae so of course Highsnobiety was on hand to document the event. See many more images on the next page.

TFTomFord 382x540 Tom Ford Opens Store In L.A.

Tom Ford had a store opening party in Los Angeles on Rodeo Drive yesterday. It’s his first store with an entire floor dedicated to womenswear. No one with an internet connection was allowed to attend. (That’s a joke for anyone who’s thinking of reporting it as actual news.) Seriously though, if there is an industry leader who has created more ill will among the fashion internets–you know, that place all those “international fashion magazines” are scrambling to draw traffic as their print subscriptions circle the drain–I’m not sure who it is.

Images of Amber Valletta. Ginnifer Goodwin, Milla Jovovich, Eva Longoria, Rachel Zoe and a few others–a lot of whom are wearing designs from Tom Ford’s Spring runway–on the next page.
