As one of Time magazine’s 100 most influential, Blake Lively attended a gala last night, hosted by the publication with her luxurious tresses changed from blonde to red. Reviews seem to be mixed (with some at Glamour where we got this pic accusing her of looking like Ariel the mermaid!) though it’s hard not to conclude this move will endear her a bit more with the Chanel-o-philes who thought she was too bland and boring to front the label’s Madesmoiselle bag campaign. Certainly this spices up her image a tad.

A few more celebrity images from the TriBeCa Film Festival taking place now in New York City. Chloe Sevigny is featured above, bedecked in a lace dress with a black bag and heels. On the next page images of Rachel Roy and Nina Garcia, both looking fab and happy, plus Julia Roitfeld, Hayden Panettiere, Lorenzo Martone and Eva Mendes, wearing a very red dress.

There have been a number of Tribeca Film Festival events this past week in New York, and quite a few celebrities have been in attendance, ranging from fashion heavy hitters like Anna Wintour and Karl Lagerfeld (who showed a Magnum Ice Cream commerical he directed, featuring Rachel Bilson) to professional party attenders and names from days gone by like Susanna Hoffs and Debbi Peterson of the Bangles. We culled through the images and picked our faves–some we know well and others we are clueless on, but whatever, their fashion choices caught our eye and a lot of the time that is all that matters. That’s Ashley and MK above of course–a little prezzy for SGP, who is an admirer of their styles choices, and as it happens in this instance we were in agreement.

Karl Lagerfeld hosted a coming out party in Paris for his latest collaboration with Coca-Cola Light. It featured a bunch of Lagerfeld look-a-likes, and a bevvy of beautiful models and actresses. Singer Uffie is shown above. We spoke yesterday about the great exchanges that can come from collaborations, but this one has always rubbed the wrong way. It’s meaning is simply lost on me–no offense to the diet soda addicts in the crowd!

Our favortie gown on the red carpet for the Academy Awards was worn by Brazilian-born model and girlfriend of Matthew McConaughey, Camila Alves. It helps of course that she is a professional beauty, but really the neckline of this dress (even if the skirt is a bit much) and the glossy black color against her skin, plus her perfect hair, makeup and accessories are what make for a total gorgeous package. Heidi Klum as always look fantastic, but she was dressed for a viewing party hosted by Elton John and wasn’t an official Oscar red carpet walker. Some fashion site last week had hinted that celebs this year were ready to be inspired by Lady Gaga’s more adventerous style and as such there would be plenty for Joan Rivers to mock, but alas, everyone must have chickened out at the last minute because gown choices were as conservative as ever.

Featured celebs include Rihanna (above wearing Dior), Heidi Klum (Julien McDonald), Katy Perry (Giorgio Armani), Kim Kardashian (Kaufman Franco), Jennifer Lopez (Pucci), Nicki Minaj (Givenchy), Ciara (Pucci)….you know, all the usuals plus a few others.

Michelle Obama shows the red carpet celebs how to do visually arresting yet still regal, wearing a red Alexander McQueen gown to a China state dinner with her husband.

The Golden Globe Awards took place last night and from a fashion perspective it was the usual snore fest. Beautiful, gorgeously made gowns with a heavy emphasis on peach and beige hues (or black), but if one didn’t know better, one would conclude these were images taken at a high-end fancy pants wedding. Seal and Heidi Klum (above), both in Marc Jacobs stood out, but then again, her roots are fashion not Hollywood. After the flip, our fave wedding party gowns, which are labeled with the name of the designer.

For the American Music Awards red carpet, Nicki Minaj wore a design by Indian fashion designer Manish Arora, and when interviewed on the carpet and asked to describe what the dress would say if it could speak, she answered, “I am such a bad diva bitch!” Rap fans have been buzzing over Minaj’s recent direct-hit comments about Lil Kim, who Minaj has been reluctant to call about by name. Said Minaj in quite the rant, “I feel like, [Lil Kim is] going to go down in history now as a sore loser, as opposed to going down in history as the Queen.” Ouch!

The CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund awards took place last night with menswear designer Billy Reid the winner. The red carpet was the most interesting part and as always we’ve highlighted our faves. On this page we have a ying and yang situation with the Olsen twins on one side, decked as they often are as of late in lots of fur and Chanel Iman on the other side, looking summery and still working her super tight, post Victoria’s Secret runway bod. On the next page Kim Kardashian, Keri Hilson, Christina Ricci, Blake Lively, Carey Mulligan, Diane Von Furstenberg and Tory Burch who came with her sweetie, Lyor Cohen (which I have a hard time wrapping my head around but okay).
