We haven’t posted any photos by street photographer and friend to HighSnobette, Rashid Samuel, in a minute, but we could not pass on this one! If you can’t read it, the sign says “I”ll be your house husband. I cook, clean and I’m good in bed,” followed by his phone number. Women, how many of you have expressed the need for a “wife”? Well, here’s your big opportunity!!
Seriously though, I think like any great photo this one is a sign of the times. And on that note, I’m going to follow up with Rashid and see what the back story is. Stay tuned! See more of Samuel’s images here.

In a shoot for Laurent Darmon, and her recent editorial for Harper’s Bazaar as shot by Terry Richardson , model Miranda Kerr was shown modeling next to nothing. Richardson follows up the shoot with a behind-the-scenes ” B12,” video, in which we’re subjected to watching the beauty give Richardson what he says is his very first B12 shot….placed it appears in his lower back rather than the traditional buttocks placement because even supers have their limits, after all.

Mark Hunter, aka The Cobra Snake aka party photo pioneer from L.A., portrayed model Cintia Dicker in a Bond-inspired shoot for the L.A.-based swimwear label Wildfox. I find an incredible resemblance between Cintia and 60s Bond girl Ursula Andress. See for yourself by taking a look at the spread on the next page.

Seventeen-year-old, other-wordly Dutch beauty Daphne Groenfeld in an arresting black and white ad, part of H&M’s campaign promoting its Autumn 2012 offerings. See a product image on the next page.

Gwen Stefani is shot by Terry Richardson for Bazaar’s biggest September issue yet, with 375 ad pages (which, given the mag’s flat circulation numbers defies logic but ok that’s the state of the ad industry for ya). In this shot she’s wearing a gown by Jil Sander and a hat by Alexis Mabille Couture. We view Stefani as a great, great person, but eh, are not so crazy about this very pink cover. Are you?

I have a Kate Moss book, it’s softcover and was purchased at a Brooklyn stoop sale for a few dollars many years ago. It’s called Kate: The Kate Moss Book (which now I’m seeing on Amazon has some decent worth!), but now there is a new and different one, called The Kate Moss Book, published by Rizzoli and available for pre-order for $52.47 on Amazon.
It’s basically a book of Kate Moss photos, and is offered with eight different covers, shot by Mario Testino, Corinne Day, Inez & Vinoodh, Craig McDean, Mert & Marcus, David Sims, Mario Sorrenti, and Juergen Teller. FYI: they will be shipped at random–no picking allowed! See the other seven covers on the next page.
P.S. Now that I’ve pulled my Kate Moss book out, I’m reminded it includes a forward written by Moss in 1995, in which she writes about being labeled “viciously by the majority of the media.” She ends by saying she’s off to “eat a massive steak and loads of very fattening potatoes, with loads of butter.” All of which of course refer to the insane beating she took as the face of “Heroin Chic.” Her ability to come out of that pile on says a lot about her survival skills, which in part must have contributed to the unusually long length of her career.

Jewellery makers David Webb’s take the unusual step of featuring Terry Richardson as shot with model Eniko for it Autumn 2012 print campaign. Yes, we are all quite used to seeing Richardson pose alongside his subjects on his own blog, but for brand campaigns as far as I can recall he always has been behind the lens. [UPDATE: No, says a commentor, Richardson has been featured in ads he has shot before so nothing new.] Sima Ghadamian, co-owner of David Webb, commenting on the campaign says:
“Featuring Terry Richardson in our 2012 ad campaign felt like a natural evolution. We are excited to include Terry as his vision embodies the bold, modern aesthetic of David Webb. Under the creative direction of Alex Wiederin, Terry’s playful yet seductive photography and Lori Goldstein’s ‘more is more’ style captured our brand flawlessly.”
The ads appear in the September issues of Vogue, Garage, Russian Tatler, Town & Country amongst others.

Black & white shots, a country-kitchen backdrop, quiet poses, for Balmain’s Autumn 2012 ad campaign, the brand’s trademark charismatic lux, as always speaks softly but carries a big stick.

By the time she was 18, Lindsey Wixson’s striking face had already fronted campaigns for a large numbers of high fashion brands. In an editorial for Vogue UK she looks more radiant and natural than ever. Shot by Terry Richardson, the New York-inspired spread shows some of the upcoming trends for Autumn: houndstooth, lumberjack plaids and tweed, styled with a country manor feel. Love her eye-catching big smile, which managed to boost my less-than-thrilled Monday mood. Definitely wanted to share this with you!
