Arquiste Parfumeur created by Carlos Huber is a collection or scents made of rare ingredients and capturing olfactive notes with historical connections. Each scent feels like you stepped into a wonderful time capsule, but in this case the idea is not about that which is outdated, but more about a feeling of nostalgia and intimacy. Like a sniff of your loved one’s scent on her  favorite sweater or a childhood vacation memory.

While we are fans of the complete collection favorites include, “Infanta en Flor” (floral musky amber), “Fleur de Louis” (woody floral) and of course “Anima Dulcis,” a blend of cocoa absolute, Mexican vanilla, cinnamon and chilli infusion. With a long tradition in perfumery, dating back to the 1800s, Lubin Paris  presented its latest offerings at Elements Showcase this past week.  Timeless and elegant, our favorite was the iconic “Idole” originally launched in 1965, a complex blend of spices in a stunning bottle designed by Serge Mansau. On the next page take a closer look at more  perfumes that  caught our eyes and nose. Visit Lubin for sales locations.

For the Elements Showcase, Reyjavik-based artist and designer Andrea Maack created a gallery-like wall installation, where attendees could each own a signed  piece sprayed with their favorite scent. Individually titled “Craft,” “Smart,” “Sharp,” “Dark,” and “Silk,” according to press each fragrance represents:

“An entirely original work method based on the interpretation and translation of visual cues and how scent ties together the elements of the artwork.”

We had the opportunity to visit Strange Invisible Perfumes at Element Showcase this week and found ourselves enamored with the simplicity and refinement of their  concept. Founded by Alexandra Balahoutis,  each scent is made of certified organic botanicals. Devoid or animal products (hence vegan!) or artificial components, the scents have a depth that I previous only thought would be attainable with some animal musk , thankfully that is not the case. Our favorites include “Fire &Cream,” “Dimanche,” and the newly launched collection of Zodiac scents (above).  For more info visit  here.

Perfectly appropriate for a man or a woman, BLK denim’s first scent is spicy and mysterious, perfect for those who enjoy the uncommon and edgy. The Snobettes are fans, it’s available here.

Gerard Ghislain, the name behind the coveted Histoire de Parfums (Ambre 114 is a personal fave) launches this November a special edition of three scents: Rosam, Petroleum and Ambrarem. Inspired by plants minerals and animals the assortment promises to be a hit. Believe us try a scent and you will be hooked! The multi-talented Henrik Vibskov launched his long-awaited scent, “Type,” in the bran’ds New York boutique last week . Inspired by three different cities, Berlin, Copenhagen and Damascus, the unisex were on display for attendees to sample and partake in on New York’s Fashion’s Night Out.  More images of the ambiance on the next page by Hannah Newbery for Highsnobette.

Amouage was founded over thirty years ago as the scent of choice for the Royal of the  Sultanate of Oman. Luxurious and grand in every way the scents collection has won us over. A simple dab lasts for days, and made us just want to continually smell ourselves. This week we were very excited to attend  the Elements Showcase , a scents focused trade show exhibiting some of the finest in scents  and skincare.  A true delight of the senses for those in search of  the unique  and luxurious . Immaculate presentation, conceptual art, gourmet catering, we walked away floating… On the next page a peek at a few of our favorites.

Harajuko Lovers has a new fragrance launch coming up and it’s called “Super G,” as in Gwen we presume or perhaps it’s targeted to all you lady gangstas–ha! According to press, it has a “fruity floral fragrance.” Look for it to hit stores in August. Via Tokokowaii.
