Designed by Folake Folarin-Coker, the Tiffany Amber collection originates from Folake’s native Nigeria and has been winning the hearts of fashion lovers on a global scale. Awarded a Designer of the Year 2009/2010 award at the Arise Africa fashion week in South Africa, we fell in love with her use of color and volume, making her autumn/winter 2010 collection filled with Grecian silhouettes  and silks a winner in our book. What won me over about May Kosaka’s Mothe  apparel is her continual attention to detail, the fact that a blazer a skirt or a jacket always features more than meets the eye. In a time where fast fashion has taken over, it’s refreshing to see young designers staying true to the craftmanship of garment construction and marching to the beat of their own drums. Recently spotted, Yana Handbags’ irresistible “Muse” collection accessories made in collaboration with Jewellery by Gina Valdez  on NJAL . I had the pleasure of meeting Leana Zuniga a while back and was impressed by her ability to make apparel that looks farily simple,  but at a second glance  stands out as well constructed and made of amazing fabrics that we must all have in our closets.
