We’ve long loved nail artist Sophy Robson and were super excited to cover a recent “Master Class” event in London she organized with the goal of educating both aspiring and established nail artists.  The event included instruction by Robson and the much-admired Japanese nail artist Disco Nails (aka Nagi) who works from her salon, Disco Nails in Shibuyo, Japan. In other words, two of the world’s most talented nail artists, what a gift for attendees!

Known for Japanese UV nail art, New York based Jessica Tong’s work caught my eye  as an artist who excels in her use of color gel and nail polish  mostly 3D elements ( which I love!). Take a look on the next page at some favorites.

There are many styles of nail art (3-d, tribal, blinged out) but I have to tip my hat to fashion editor Eva Chen for she is forever offering up gorgeous images of clean, stylish and meticulous designs, my favorite aesthetic for sure.  Alexis Wolfer is credited for the nails shown above, in an image we pulled from Chen’s Tumblr.

Have no ideas where these two gorgeous/funny/smart (triple threat) women went for a minute but they’re baaaack and as amazing as ever. In the season two “Get In Get Out” video above they highlight “chopped stiletto” nails, dainty jewellery and “thug” beanies. So fun.

Spring is taking it’s sweet time to make itself felt in New York. I’m finding nail art to be a fun way to channel warmer weather by wearing lighter colors when a coat and boots is still de rigueur. The Illustratednail takes the classic French manicure design and reduces it to a black outline on a white nail. The result is sleek yet edgy.

Chanel makes a bold  statement with its nail polish color choices for Summer 2013. See additional looks of the entire makeup color palette at Chicsfilles.

Gabriella of Miss, one of the pioneers of the female blogosphere has partnered with Minx nails to bring you an assortment of nail art designs that we find irresistible. The concept was thought up by WAH Nails owner and founder, Sharmadean Reid, and Lisa Marie Carter, the creative force and owner of Love My Custom. Each of the WAH Nails staff was gifted with a necklace and while this custom item is not available for purchase, Love My Custom has lots of  fun earrings, rings and necklaces now available on its etail site.
