Kate Moss is undoubtedly one of the world’s most photographed women – and in our latest fashion film series, we invite a selection of contemporary video editors to craft their own fashion film from footage captured of Kate Moss during Nick Knight’s editorial for the December 2010 issue of Vogue Italia. The resulting fashion films will be released over spring 2011, alongside interviews with each of the editors to underline their individual approach to the footage, the process of editing Kate, and the emerging genre of fashion film.Via showstudio.

One of our longstanding faves, accessory designer and artist Bijules‘ gold nipple pastie was among the items used to style SHOWStudio’s fashion film, “The Waist,” part of the site’s Fashion Body series. Directed by photographer Kristian Schuller and filmmaker Marie Schuller, the film also features designs by Viktor & Rolf, Louis Vuitton and Gareth Pugh. See the entire film at SHOWstudio.
Nowness presents a “Luxury Timeline” video by Christian Borstlap, detailing the history of the world’s greatest high-end fashion labels by using a series of artfully drawn dates, logos and charicatures with a classical music backdrop. Brands mentioned include Hermes, Burberry, Chanel, Gucci, Ralph Lauren, and Versace, highlighted by the great moments in their histories, like the launch of Chanel’s “Little Black Dress” in 1926. Thoroughly enjoyable and educational, too!
Written and Directed by Paul Rojanathara and Davis Johnson, the documentary film titled “The Influencers” examines who moves the culture. It features interviews with Jeff Staple, Josh Peskowitz, Rob Stone and Jon Cohen, among others. It’s worthy of a view, but given that one of the vid’s theme is future thinking, I can’t help but think, where my girls at??
In support of its “Workwear” collaboration with Pendleton, Levi’s has produced a documentary film called “Bares, Broncs and Bulls in the Navajo Nation,” which will appear on VBS.tv on November 15th. In the meantime, they’ve released some stills of some of the cute cowboys (how can you not love a man who can handle a lasso?) who will be featured in the film, all coincidentally wearing the “Workwear” collection. See more at HighSnobiety.
MTVstyle has a detailed post on Selita Ebank’s wings, featured in the Kanye West music film, “Runaway.” They’re designed by Martin Izquierdo, who also designs the wings for Victoria Secret’s runway shows. He’s a bit of a wings expert as he also did the wings for the Broadway play, “Angels in America!” See more detail and read a q&a with the designer at MTVstyle.
