Agyness Deyn Dr.Martens Agyness Deyn x Dr. Martens Loobook Autumn 2012

We showed a video preview of  British model Agyness Deyn’s collaboration with brand Dr. Martens last week, and now we have the lookbook.  The 90s-inspired collection is right in step with the punker aesthetic Dr. Marten is best known for and also of course Agyness herself, who is a longtime fan of the brand. On the collection she says:

“I have always had a really intense relationship with Dr. Martens, right from my first pair back when I was 13, which I bought as a combination of showing that I wanted to rebel against my parents and they were the coolest boots that I could get away with wearing to school which stood for something that gave me my own stamp of originality.”

The collection will be available online and in stores at Dr. Marten’s starting August 15th.

See more from the collection after the jump.

Rag & Bone Women’s Resort Collection 2013

RagandBone 1 Rag & Bone Womens Resort Collection 2013

Rag & Bone engaging Kate Moss for it first ad campaign ever, has no doubt greatly expanded U.S.-based brand’s name recognition, especially in Europe. Judging from the the beautiful collection it is showing for Resort 2013, that growth momentum will continue. Theme include leather, military green, gold lame, tone-on-tone flower prints, all combined create a city chic look that is oh-so au courant. The leather dress and the boots for me is a standout.

Check out more of the lookbook after the jump.

The Kate Moss Book: 8 Covers

The Kate Moss Book: 8 Covers

I  have a Kate Moss book, it’s softcover and was purchased at a Brooklyn stoop sale for a few dollars many years ago. It’s called Kate: The Kate Moss Book (which now I’m seeing on Amazon has some decent worth!), but now there is a new and different one, called The Kate Moss Book, published by Rizzoli and available for pre-order for $52.47 on Amazon.

It’s basically a book of Kate Moss photos, and is offered with eight different covers, shot by Mario Testino, Corinne Day, Inez & Vinoodh, Craig McDean, Mert & Marcus, David Sims, Mario Sorrenti, and Juergen Teller. FYI: they will be shipped at random–no picking allowed!  See the other seven covers on the next page.

P.S. Now that I’ve pulled my Kate Moss book out, I’m reminded it  includes a forward written by Moss in 1995, in which she writes about being labeled “viciously by the majority of the media.” She ends by saying she’s off to “eat a massive steak and loads of very fattening potatoes, with loads of butter.” All of which of course refer to the insane beating she took as the face of “Heroin Chic.” Her ability to come out of that pile on says a lot about her survival skills, which in part must have contributed to the unusually long length of her career.

David Webb Terry Richardson Ad: David Webb Ft. Terry Richardson Autumn 2012

Jewellery makers David Webb’s  take the unusual step of featuring Terry Richardson as shot with model Eniko for it Autumn 2012 print campaign. Yes, we are all quite used to seeing Richardson pose alongside his subjects on his own blog, but for brand campaigns as far as I can recall he always has been behind the lens. [UPDATE: No, says a commentor, Richardson has been featured in ads he has shot before so nothing new.] Sima Ghadamian, co-owner of David Webb, commenting on the campaign says:

“Featuring Terry Richardson in our 2012 ad campaign felt like a natural evolution. We are excited to include Terry as his vision embodies the bold, modern aesthetic of David Webb. Under the creative direction of Alex Wiederin, Terry’s playful yet seductive photography and Lori Goldstein’s ‘more is more’ style captured our brand flawlessly.”

The ads appear in the September issues of Vogue, Garage, Russian Tatler, Town & Country amongst others.

Video Lookbook: Agyness Deyn For Dr. Martens

U.K. model Agyness Dyenn has fronted Dr. Martens ad campaigns and now she is collaborating with the reinvigorated brand on a collection of clothes and shoes. The video lookbook  is more about the feel of the collabo than the look, but the few glimpes it provides show offerings that seem fairly attractive, with daisies a running theme. Look for it to hit stores on August 15th.

Ad: Natalia Vodianova For Stella McCartney Autumn 2012

NataliaStella1 540x360 Ad: Natalia Vodianova For Stella McCartney Autumn 2012

It seems the only fashion news these days is ad campaigns, which ugh, but anyway…here we have Natalia Vodianova for a third season fronting Stella McCartney’s campaign, this time for Autumn 2012. Around the fashionsphere the lovely Russian girl is catching some grief for her excessively ducky lips–see above left image–but it’s hard for me to hate simply cause Vodianova is one of my faves and I’m loyal to my girls.

And while Vodianova is not a new face for Stella McCartney it looks like her place of birth will be an added boost for upcoming ad plans. According to a press release posted at Thefashionspot, “[Advertising] spend is flat in countries where McCartney already advertises, but this season the designer will begin to advertise in Russia — namely in Vogue Russia, Harper’s Bazaar Russia and Elle Russia — as well as in Spain and China.”

Ad: Kate Moss For Rag & Bone

KMRag&Bone

Rag & Bone is opening its first European store in London, and the label tapped Kate Moss to front its ad campaign, as shot by Craig McDean. Rag & Bone will also show during London Fashion Week during September, and from what I’m reading, the the London ad campaign and runway show are a first for the brand.

As for Moss, my co-editor, SGP, and I were just chatting about her recent rise among male fashion watchers.  She’s been an icon forever and a day in the fashion world of women (to the point where it’s like, oh boy, another Kate Moss ad, cover, runway??) , but it seems over the past couple of years there’s been this uptick in interest for her by the fellas. Search through the posts on our sibling sites, where the guys post more about Moss more than we do, and check the popularity of her Supreme t-shirt to see what we mean.

We have this theory that the guys who once never noticed her now find her attractive because she’s a grown and accomplished female, whose credentials as a successful wife, mom and business woman are established. Sort of how young male chimps lust after more mature, alpha female chimp ladies. Not that dudes are animals or anything (even though we all actually are), but there is something to be said about a woman whose looks are still working and who has all her ducks in line.

georgia may jagger Behind The Scenes: Georgia May Jagger For Hudson By Dan Martensen
Model Georgia May Jagger, daughter of Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall, has been tapped for Hudson’s 10th anniversary campaign.  Jagger has been the face of the denim label since 2009, and has even designed a range of jeans for the brand so was an obvious choice for the campaign, which features a selection of limited edition denim styles. The shots feature a glamorous Georgia working the anniversary jeans wearing a top hat, skinny jeans and a waistcoatin with a cabaret theme.
