Lara Stone For September Interview Magazine

Lara Stone For September Interview Magazine

Lara Stone gets a big ole feature, entitled “The Chronicles of Lara” in the September issue of Interview magazine, shot by Mert & Marcus. It’s part of the femme dom theme, which is such a big part of fashion these days. On the one hand if you follow fashion photography it’s become a bit tiresome as a theme,  on the other hand it makes sense given changing sex roles (think about the rise in visibility of “cougers”) which have really come into pop culture prominence over the past couple years.  Via Fuckyeahlarastone via TFS.

Chanel Iman For September Allure

AllureChanel1 Chanel Iman For September Allure

Not a big fan of scanning–my computer just isn’t capable of doing the heavy lifting it requires to be done properly, but this editorial was lovely and I couldn’t find any other site featuring it so here you go. Chanel Iman (who I once humiliatingly identified as the daughter of Iman–I swear our readers are so sweetly patient with our mistakes!) is the star attraction of this six-page Allure spread entitled “The Other Woman,” with the theme being the play of two big looks for fall–full, frothy fem looks and menswear-inspired fashion–against each other. All the rest after the flip.

Lara Stone All Over the Place!

LaraStoneLoveMag Lara Stone All Over the Place!

While I was in Vegas, my favorite model showed up in multiple September issues, including Vogue, W and Love! Damn, woman, are you piping hot or what? Can’t say I’m overly enamored with any of the shots, though I guess I like the one from Love featured on this page the most. Vogue has her in a feature called “Sweater Girl” (yawnsville), for which the stylist colored in her eyebrows brown so there’s a tad of intrigue in that I suppose. A sample from Vogue and W are the next page. For even more images, check Fashioncopious for Love and Vogue, and then the W site for its own pics of the lovely Ms. Stone. Read more

Linda Evangelista For Talbots Autumn 2010

page37f Linda Evangelista For Talbots Autumn 2010

The Linda fans at Thefashionspot are excited, but I can’t help but be mean and think yet another reason that comment about not waking up for less than $10,000 a day will haunt her for always. On the other hand…..get that money, Evangelista! Thanks to that George Michael’s video you could shill for Walmart and your fabulousness status wouldn’t move an iota. “…Sometimes the clothes do NOT make the man!”

Naomi Campbell High Drama!

05 August 2010, 18.45 | Posted in Models, celebrity | 1 comment »

Somehow Naomi Campbell has herself involved in some high drama, involving dirty diamonds, gun running and Nelson Mandela, which I guess is at least a step up from whacking minimum-wage employees with expensive cell phones. The video is worth watching just for Campbell’s wig and her swearing in.

Kate Moss Will Always Be Boss

KateMossFGRa Kate Moss Will Always Be Boss

By now you probably know that Kate Moss landed the cover of U.K. September Vogue, which is like her billionth cover (my all time fave was the Face cover when she had the braided mohawk) and here is one of the shots from the editorial. Given all the hatred dumped on her (aka the dark side of feminism) for her days as the poster child of “Heroin Chic,” it must kill some folks that of all her super model peers, she has been the one who has stayed–seemingly almost without effort–perched at the very top of the model totem pole. Personally I think it’s justice, flat out. Via FGR.

A couple more images of Kate in fur and velvet after the flip.

Chanel Autumn/Winter 2010/2011 Video

29 July 2010, 18.03 | Posted in Couture, Models, advertisement | 1 comment »

This is a video of Chanel’s Autumn/Winter 2010/2011 couture collection. It’s interesting because it’s shot as though panning across a magazine editorial, with the models holding their poses against lush backgrounds. At points the camera zeroes in on details, but other than that the action is minimal. Personally I couldn’t handle the pace (or the music!), but that’s what posting on blogs all day does to your attention span!
