Longtime muse of Karl Lagerfeld, Ines de la Fressange (image via FB), will take the runway for Chanel when the label shows on October 5th. According to WWD, she will also appear in Spring ad campaigns, along with Stella Tennant and Freja Beha Erichsen. It’s always good to see designers show a more open-minded runway. While designers are allowed to choose whichever models they like to wear their clothes, I’m also free to conclude that those who populate their runways with women who all look very much alike are disappointingly not very creative in terms of their views on what constitues beauty. Presentation is part of an overall package, after all.

Plasticladies, “a blog dedicted to dolls,” has been getting lots of love in image-obsessed Tumblr world since it launched in August. Featured here is just one of the site’s many dolls, whose looks range from super models and pop stars to chilled-out Boho girls. The realest fake you will ever see. And in addition to discovering that Barbie has picked up a whole bunch of new, more interesting friends since last we hung, I also found out that designer Jason Wu is a fan and participant! He’sd the head doll designer for Integrity Toy’s “Fashion Royalty” line, which “celebrates the glamour and the excitement of the fashion industry.” More after the flip.

We showed the amazing cover shot of Lara Stone for Vogue Paris last week and now we have the interior editorial. Photographed by Steve Klein, the shoot was styled by none other than Carine Roitfeld herself who is one of those gifted types capable of making genius look as easy as the snap of a finger. Looking at the images here and on the next page, we rescind what we said earlier about Stone need to cover up more, but only if Roitfeld is calling all the shots. Via Fashionising.

Lara Stone is exposing herself again, this time for the Fall issue of I.D. magazine. We love this girl as regular readers know, but as much as we enjoy seeing her naked it’s time for her to pull top diva status and not pull her shirt off for basically any photographer that asks. In what is now an official trend for my posts today–the art of contrast–haircare line Shu Uemura Art of Hair were responsible for the sleek/frizzy pony tails shown here for Andy & Debb’s New York Fashion Week runway show. It’s neat because it’s so simple but it also reminds me of what is pretty much an everyday style for a lot of New York City’s Latinas, whose super slicked-back hair that lets loose and does its things post hairband has always been a great, distinct look. The first image of Lara Stone’s cover for Vogue Paris is out and it’s quite the stunner, highlighting the two features upon which much her fame has been built: the gap and her rack. Which of course was done tongue in cheek because there is always so much more to a person’s essence and what they bring to the table than their physical features. On another note, given Carine Roitfeld’s role in kick-starting Stone’s career, she must be truely relishing her success and her ability to cap it all off with this gorgeous image. Via Fashioncopious.
