Candice Swanepoel For Juicy Couture Directed By Terry Richardson

Juicy Couture just launched a short film titled ‘California Dreaming’ to promote its holiday collection. Starring Candice Swanepoel and directed by Terry Richardson (also co-starring) at the setting of Chateau Marmont, the top model presents pieces from the actual collection packed in a L.A. typical ‘Girls-just-wanna-have-fun’ story.

As part of the brands new digital and social media strategy, the film includes links of the apparel and accesories of Juicy Couture, so that they can directly be shopped while watching it. With the hashtag #givemewhatiwant Juicy adopts this new media strategy to engage its customers in a two way dialogue.

Burberry Woman Autumn/Winter 2011 Livestream On Highsnobette

While the Snobettes are very excited to provide you with the live stream of the Women’s Burberry Autumn/Winter 2011 runway, the brand has also announced that it will be the first to live stream a fashion show on London’s Piccadilly Circus. The equivalent of NYC’s Times Square, this is of course major. The runway will also be streamed to over 150 countries online at 40 live events, Burberry stores globally, as well as on iphones and ipads. Burberry women Autumn 2o11 takes place on February 21st at 4:00 pm London time. Until then stay tuned!

Kate Moss For Balmain

When Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin signed on to shoot the fall/winter 2010/11 Balmain campaign starring Kate Moss, they did so as double agents. Without anyone knowing, the renowned fashion photographers set up four surveillance-style cameras to capture Moss’s unbridled performance on set. The short film, titled Everglade, takes its name from the haunting Antony and the Johnsons song that serves as its soundtrack, and premieres on NOWNESS today. It marks the latest instance of the Dutch duo’s intentionally blurring the boundaries of reality. “Surrealism is always there in our work, whether it’s in camera or through computer manipulation,” says Van Lamsweerde. “We’ve had the idea for this video for some time. We are fascinated with the different realities going on in one shoot and so the music, the animation, Kate’s movements and the camera angle represent these layers of perception.” With animated illustrations by artist Jo Ratcliffe (in collaboration with Bouwine Pool for Sherbet), the film not only captures Moss in action, but also aims to represent a fantasy inner world. “We talked to [Ratcliffe] about it being half horror and half Disney,” Van Lamsweerde says, and what evolved is an idiosyncratic take on the behind-the-scenes genre. “It ranges from a sinewy heavy metal feel to a much cuter place,” she sums up.

WGSN’s First Global Fashion Awards Ceremony

WGSN hosted the first annual global fashion awards last night at the Waldorf Astoria in New York. Thanks to our fashion fairies, we had the opportunity to attend the lavish fashion event. The big media buzz was of course Alber Elbaz winning the ”Most Influential Womenswear Designer” award (Can’t believe Alex Wang did not?). While the highlight of the night for us had to be seeing Iris Apfel receiving the “Global Fashion Icon” award sporting a huge peacock pin, feathers and lots of bangles. Another wow moment was meeting Nicholas Kirkwood who won “Most Influential Footwear Designer.” We tweeted some the winners live, but on the next page you’ll get a glance into what we saw and the complete list.
