Given her unabashed love of makeup, Kim Kardashian is pretty much the perfect face for Allure. Inspired by Elizabeth Taylor, the cover and shoot are very beautiful, but then Allure always seems to relish and do its best work when the cover star oozes sex appeal, whether because she’s blessed with curves or just possesses that vibe. As for the interview, no new ground broken–how could there be given her day job? Though my favorite quote from the article is Kim’s feelings about body hair, “I’m Armenian, so of course I’m obsessed with hair removal! Adidas via the Berlin-based No74, the first of its “select” stores, is collaborating with lux cosmetics brand USLU Airlines, also based in Berlin, on the nailpolish featured here. Great packaging and a super fresh color. It’s available exclusively at No74, but you can check out a bunch more colors (and different neat packaging) at the USLU site.

Known for her fixed bike skills,  model /artist Juliet Elliot launches Juli-Ette lipgloss  in collaboration with Les Ettes. The  lightweight gloss reflect the natural attitude of les ettes,  packaged in a recycled container with  Juliet’s artwork .Available here .

Vivienne Westwood showed her Spring/Summer 2011 Anglomania collection yesterday in Paris, a kick off of sorts to the haute couture shows next week. Definitely the make-up leaped out, and I’m sitting hear doing my best to keep my mouth shut on my opinion because on the one hand while I’m into the current trend towards brightly-colored hair and make-up for some reason I’m not liking this version. No doubt Viv is referencing the punk roots upon which her career was built, but for some reason the application strikes me as a big slap dash.

Launching this coming August is YSL Beauté ’s interpretation of what has become a true “nails-did” craze. Titled “Rock & Baroque,”  the autumn 2010 cosmetics collection includes a series  of  nail polishes that  will be sold  in duos. The idea is to create an edgy,  French manicure with  striking color combinations:  “Belle de Jour”( turquoise & purple), “Rive Gauche” (orange & fushia), “Belle de Nuit” (plum& gold) and “Y-Cone” (pink & white). Spotted at the recent MTV Movie awards was Katerina Graham’s bright  risk taking orange lipstick and clown necklace which I find very fun.Orange lips are hard to pull off, however in this case  a little gloss or shimmer would have made it alot softer.  More on the flip,via wire.
