Rag & Bone does what it does best, zeroing in on the upcoming season’s biggest boutique trends, for Pre-Autumn 2012 it’s pops of bright color, leather, layering and in a late-breaking entry….turbans! Interesting that other than some color updates the footwear silhouette hasn’t changed much–ankle high or laced.

As a revival of the lost art of weaving, Lilly Marthe Ebener took her affinity for global style, craftsmanship and her  devotion to sustainability to create a signature  collection of women’s and children’s alpaca wool apparel and accessories. Handmade in Germany with a team of master weaver ,  each piece is a work of art. A large women’s sweater takes about 40 hours to make(!)  For Spring 2012 Stolen Girlfriends Club takes inpiration from art and nature with a signature print derived from the stunning work of New Zealand fine artist Karl Maughan:

 The print presents a flawlessness that is both seductive and suspicious. Maughan’s hyper-real paintings of surrealist fantasy landscapes in an explosion of color are magnified and multiplied into an infinite maze of light and dark that dances on a slipstream of silk. The collection is built into two parts of intensely saturated color conveying all the heightened sensitivity of being in love and the dark midnight color presenting that moment when love is gone…

Our post on Damaris’s 20th anniversary collection was quite the eye-popper and now the U.K. lingerie brand follows up with a film noir video featuring the holiday collection, titled, “Packing Heat,” which unabashedly goes for the male libido juggler by combining “knickers, guns and explosions.” Those elements are all well and fine, however, the film works because it’s gorgeously filmed and features amazingly sultry lingerie, the likes of which we have never seen.

Tory Burch styles her holiday 2011 offerings in a lookbook and while both of the outfits on this page are dark hued, as is Burch’s penchant the color scheme leans towards lightness with a mix of fabrics like fur, velvet and wool used to tell the seasonal story.
