Refinery29 has the latest lookbook for The Lake & Stars Spring 2011 offerings, which is quite a departure from the eye-popping ’70s porn themes of the last lookbook. Inspired by religous cults, the latest one isn’t as fun and the budget seems lower, but oh well, better that the brand keeps it moving than dwell on the past. On this page and after the flip are straight shots of the product, whose theme remains the same–retro-naughty garments, which in many cases work as well as outerwear as lingerie, thanks to modern fabrics and details. The lookbooks may change, but the garments remain perfect for all the high IQ sex queeens who love to flaunt their stuff.  

Old school porn and sexually dominant females are themes we’re seeing repeated over and over again these days. This time it comes via lingerie house Agent Provocateur in a video featuring 90s supermodel Kristy Hume, demanding that her sub remove his tighty whities. Lingerie is getting good again as designers experiment with new geometric cuts  outs and straps, giving the girls a chance to let loose a little and slowly but surely busting the stranglehold molded cup bras have had on the category for far too long. This very revealing “Desir Intense” (intense desire) half-cup bra by Lise Charmel is a nice example. If you can take your eyes off the models cleavage, check out the double lace back straps. A November ship date for the LaPerla X Jean Paul Gaultier lingerie collabo has announced, along with more detailed images, which come via Fashionlvr. Though I can’t help but wonder, could this possibly be the first time Jean Paul Gaultier has gone in on a lingerie collaboration? After all, as he states, “Lingerie is part of my DNA and of my heritage. It is now almost thirty years since I have designed my first corset dress, and in my latest prêt-à-porter collection I revisited the conical bras and corsets worn as outerwear. This collaboration was a natural and logical step especially since La Perla is the pearl of the lingerie, with a long history and the best savoir faire.” The collection will be available at select LaPerla and Jean Paul Gaultier stores. The Lake & Stars Autumn/Winter 2010-2011 collection is beginning to be shipped to retailers, including those super naughty “Moon Landing” bottomless tie-dyed leggings, which were the hit of the brand’s lookbook we featured in June. This is a video made in conjunction with Zoe Saldana’s Envy ad campaign for Calvin Klein. She comes off a bit stiff, probably because she’s having to explain why she thinks Calvin Klein lingerie is the shizz so totally understandable. Still, she has that beautiful dancer’s body so if you turn off the volume, there’s a lot of lovliness to behold.
