Every good lingerie wardrobe needs a nice black lace bra. As simple as the idea of a black bra is , finding the perfect one , that marries quality design and wearabiliy is often a task in itself . Call it fashion liberation, or the slow disappearance of misplaced prudishness, the sight of a bra strap no longer is a fashion or a social no-no, well at least in some parts of the world. Nonetheless the  style and quality of the ’ flash of  an underpinning ‘can still stir up some fashion demons and be relegated as tacky. To remediate to this dilemma 3.1 Phillip Lim created a capsule collection of lingerie/boudoir pieces using silk , embroidery, beads , that you just want to have an excuse to show off. One of my fave places to shop in Stockholm , is Monki. Slightly Junior the brand creates fun wearable pieces with interesting little details complemented by a very visually stimulating retail shopping experience. Now undies are part of their for Autumn/Winter ‘09 assortment!

On a tip from Jennifer Fraenkel, one of our fave custom- corset makers we took a closer look at Elle Macpherson’s Intimates Collection. Bordelle, a new brand to hit the lingerie scene, has just been added to Peacock & Strutt’s web store.  I’m a big fan of any brand that can blur the lines between lingerie and ready to wear. Bordelle does so by including leggings and corsets appropriate for the bedroom and beyond.  The collection has a bondage feel but still manages to keep a dainty, almost innocent vibe. The lines are super sharp and the color palette is minimalistic which adds to the stoic sexiness that is Bordelle.
