Discovered at Community54’s pop-up, RAP L.A is a clothing and accessories line filled with pop references and a sense of humour. Every piece makes a statement, no wonder the line  has designed costumes for Nicki Minaj. Between the “Makin’ Loot” bootie shorts (a Louis Vuittion simulation), “Holy Necklace,” “Lucky Charms” bracelets or the “Hoodrat” necklace, RAP L.A.  provides lots to talk about when it comes to perception, stereotypes and consumption. Informed by architecture and the Bauhaus, Bande des Quatres  jewellery designed by Montreal native Erin Wahed gives us a look at their latest collection. Accessory designer Melody Ehsani’s Spring 2012 lookbook…the emphasis remains on vibrant statement pieces that have become the label’s signature, with this year’s color palette frequently inspired by various shades of turquoise. Fashion vlogger Taren Guy dedicates an episode to showcasing some of accessory designer Melody Ehsani’s big bold earrings. Hard to believe I am just now discovering the ultra-adorable Guy, who has been vlogging on Youtube as Taren916 for two years! (People, you gotta let us know!) According to a bio featured on beauty company Carol’s Daughter, she started out “dedicated to documenting her own natural hair journey,” and now covers the gamut in beauty and fashion trends.
