During the 36-hours Nike Experience event last week, we got the opportunity to take a first look at the Nike Women’s Spring/Summer 2013 collection presented on a huge 18 display screen. Today, we’re one of the first to show you the womens’s lookbook for Spring/Summer 2013 inspired by the concept of supernatural performance. The pieces will be available from Nike stores starting mid February 2013.
The Spring/Summer lookbook features U.S. soccer star Alex Morgan and three-times Olympic gold medal winner, Allyson Felix who do both show their style of play that has become an inspiration to female athletes all over the world.
Nike invited me to a “36-hour experience” in Berlin to not only show off its latest products but to put me – along with a number of other journalists and bloggers from around Europe – in the hot seat.
Women’s marathon world record holder Paula Radcliffe led us in a warm-up and gave us a motivational talk before setting out on a rave run through Tiergarten that finished in a venue where the new Flyknit One was presented. Along with a special morning yoga session the next day, we got the unique opportunity to test drive the Nike Studio Wrap, the world’s first yoga shoe, hitting stores in Spring 2013.
Afterwards, a powerful #NTC workout class with track and field sprint record holder Allyson Felix was held, setting the tone for an active 2013. Later that day, during the course of a showcase at Spindler und Klatt (an old warehouse next to the Spree river), the Nike Spring/Summer 2013 collection, as well as the new Air Max One and the Air Max 2013 were presented making the sports activities of the day totally worth it. Knowing what sports gear awaits us next season, I am definitely motivated to keep the level of fitness I reached over the past two days!

We had the special opportunity to take an exclusive look on the pieces from the collaboration of Maison Martin Margiela and H&M before the official presentation in New York yesterday. In an impressive showroom set-up in the penthouse of The Mondrian Soho Hotel, we were shown a collection presenting the collaborative garments and accessories for men and women, a collection just as impressing as the view from the terrace. What makes the collection so special is the focus on the five themes: “Shape & Volume,” “Over Sized,” “Process of Tailoring,” “Ambiguity,” and “Transformation” that are inspired by Margiela’s most representative pieces from the archives of the brand’s 23-year history. For example, the patterned shirt featured in the image gallery (below the flip) is from Margiela’s first collection in 1989.
Margarete von de Bosch, Creative Advisor to H&M said at the presentation:
“With these Maison Martin Margiela re-editions, some of the most important garments in recent fashion history will be made available at H&M. The pieces are incredibly accurate to the original, and prove how the most radical concept can result in fashion that is both desireable and wearable. it is a privilege for H&M to be collaborationg with MMM.”
It’s been almost five years since one of London’s best multi-brand shops opened its doors. To celebrate its fifth anniversary, GoodHood teamed up with London Design Festival to commemorate local design and creativity. Partners like Antipodium, Norse Projects, R. Newbold and Bag ‘N’ Noun collaborated with Good Hood to produce an exclusive collection and , for the first time the retailer will introduce its own line of products.
Kyle Stewart, Co-Owner of The Goodhood Store says:
“The Goodood Store was born out of a design background so we wanted to celebrate by creating must have products with many of our suppliers. To house the project we decided to open a stand alone space on the Shoreditch backstreet we’ve became synonymous with and create products that represent the synergy of our brand.”
All of it will be launched on September 14 in a pop-up space in Shoreditch. As litte foretaste we have exclusive pictures of the Antipodium for GoodHood collection for you to check out after the jump.
Earlier this year, Adidas Originals invited us and other girls around the globe to get creative in the name of the Adidas Originals White Space Project. For the launch party that took place in April, we customized tees with Coco & Breezy while Yuna enchanted us with her voice. You can check the photos of the party here.
A few months later the project now looks back on nine successful collaborations in nine different cities. But even if the #WSP has come to an end, Adidas Originals remains true to its motto and continues asking people (this time boys AND girls) to #represent.
Take a look at the round-up video showing how the #WSP girls represented for all creative girls around the world.
Many of us said we would never go there , the first time we saw skinny jeans (yours truly included), vowing to stay faithful to our bootcuts, bell bottoms and straight legs. Fast forward a couple years and most of us are still wearing our skinny jeans, even as runway designers have pushed for new flares and bell bottoms for a few seasons.
As an update to the well-loved, body-hugging silhouette Levi’s has introduced the Curve ID Bootcut Skinny, featuring a skinny silhouette that elongates the leg with a sexy rock ’n’ roll look. These are the skinny jeans that will fall nicely over your ankle boots!
To celebrate the new style and its Autumn 2012 collection, Levi’s tapped director Stephanie DiGuisto to create the above film celebrating the beauty of individualit, titled Perfect. We are not the Same. Showing women and denim in a way that is beautifully poetic in way where sexiness and strength is implied but never forced. See stills on the flip.
Last night was the celebration of the Adidas White Space Project in collaboration with yours truly, Highsnobette. Attendees had the opportunity to customize tees with Coco& Breezy, sip on Vita Coco mocktails, hear Yuna’s sultry melodies, take pictures with Instaprint and even shake to the tunes of Jasmine Solano. On the next page a look at the festivities and stylish attendees including Theophilus London and Dj Venusx. Get a peek at the fun ambiance on the flip.
We have many more images to post from the Adidas Originals White Space project party that took place last night, but we begin our coverage with the pieces created by Butch Diva designer Tiffany Rhodes, who designed several custom looks featured in the video and at the party. Have a look on the next page. Images courtesy of Highsnobette.
We had a blast working on these looks with Coco & Breezy whose dynamic presence, love and knowledge of style kept us all inspired. In addition to Adidas apparel , looks included eyewear and jewellery from C&B’s signature line. The fishtail skirt worn by Breezy and the white petal layered skirt On Coco are designed by Kalmanovich. The olive khakis are a preview from Nudie’s Autumn 2012 collection, the checkered shirt is by J.A.C.H.S. and the tie-dyed skirt is by Butch Diva.

We put our stylist and art director hats on to work on the cool White Space Project video look book and accompanying photo shoot. As much as possible we wanted each woman to be herself while having fun with customized pieces, textures and color.
Enjoy a look at Yuna Zarai who rocked the shoot with her stunning voice and poise, wearing gold bodysuit by Butch Diva, denim by Nudie jeans, Custom Adidas headwrap and pants styled by Highsnobette. Photos by Hanna Newbery. Make-up by Camille Thompson. Many more images on the next page.
