Video: Gratuitous ‘All Black’ Rugby Beefcake Break

17 March 2011, 17.49 | Posted in Fun Facts | 2 comments »

While confessing to know nothing about rugby other than it features amazing men, we were still nonetheless excited to discover in the WSJthis morning that All Black, New Zealand’s national rugby team will continue to perform the Maori war dance (see video above and weep) prior to the start of games. Apparently the right to perform was brought under question when descendants of the Maori looked to legally control song lyrics. But no, not true, a representative for the tribe recently stated that the tribe has always supported All Black’s performance and takes great pride in it even. And thank god for that!

A scent that can chemically change your mood  by releasing “happy chemicals”, is  the claim to fame of the  Smiley Scent collection . Yours truly is extremely picky with scents, and for the most  part if it hints too closely  anything edible and has a starlet on it, I just can’t. Nonetheless the Smiley scents created  by Ora -ïto and Arnau Bani  are really pleasant. Not particularly feminine or masculine, the packaging imitates pharmaceuticals and laboratory containers making the whole concept modern and fresh and  definitely not kitschy. The full Chemical explanation of how Smiley works on the flip,  It’s available here.

Last night we scoured the streets of Soho during fashion ’s night out, to see how the shopping   festivity was was going to take place. The always buzzing neighborhood of Soho was filled with pedestrians going from store to store enjoying various events, food , drinks  and music. Levis & Costume National were jamming!

As the shopping night seemed to have been successful for big brands and retailers who aggressively advertised to  pull crowds into their stores. Independent designers and  boutiques we visited experienced a slight increase in traffic but  pretty much no sales. One handsome boutique owner even compared  the night  to ‘halloween for fashion” an interesting analogy when I for one was looking forward to  see a plethora of decked out individuals perusing the street but I was left underwhelmed. Nonetheless  duo above , too fabulous for words, allowed me to have my first  Garance/Tommy Ton  moment . Next page for a closer look at FNO in Soho.

More Men are Rocking Pink Undies…

calecon More Men are Rocking Pink Undies...

I remember a couple of years back when it became socially okay for guys  to wear a pink t-shirt in NYC . Men always wore pink, as the color has always been present in high end fashion of a certain preppy/country club easthetic. Nonetheless a lot of young hip guys would not be caught dead in it until of course a certain blank t-shirt maker became mass, offered pink in all different shades, and it became cool to rock pink. Hip-hop fashion embraced the hue and the rest is history. Interestingly enough  Jockey recently  reported a 62 percent increase in their sale of pink undies for men, specifically the pink Y shape briefs.via Nymag
