H&M are constantly striving to balance their contemporary and exciting designs alongside ethical responsibilites. Their latest Conscious Collection, which will be released this Spring, sees a reflection of the season in the beautiful floral textile designs. Vanessa Paradis is the face of the worldwide campaign, but for a special treat, here at Highsnobette we teamed up with photographer Laura Palm to produce a more personal lookbook, ahead of the collections release.
Featuring Cécile Weber and Jackie Hide, the styling plays up the youthful edge of the collection,

including floaty dresses, cropped bomber jackets, khaki pants, shorts and perforated tea dresses. The collection will hit H&M stores on March 25.

The story behind these Ipad cases is pretty nice. During his trip to Africa to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro, the founder of Stone & Cloth was accompanied by porters who are earning 1 to 2 dollars a day, what isn’t even enough to send a child to school. Back home, he started researching how he could help kids in Tanzania get the education they deserve. Creating a product, where each purchase supports a child’s education, proved to be the best solution. Each purchase therefore supports a child’s education in Tanzania, Africa. Great idea!

Vogue editor Anna Wintour came up with the clever plan to raise money for Barack Obama’s presidential campaign by asking her designer pals to come up with a lower-than-normally-priced tee-shirt (or tote bag, or scarf) to be sold on a sub-section of Obama’s campaign site, called Runway To Win. And they all come in a full range of sizes….imagine that, a Marc Jacobs tee in XXXL!

Prada is one of those brands that doesn’t necessarily reveal itself on the runway. It best trends to emerge with the season. Still, the show seemed to get better as it went on, in part because the emergence of minimalist looks, which is looking like a Spring 2011 trend of some import, is really sticking in my throat.

We stumbled on this marvelous  boutique while strolling  in Sag harbor this past weeek-end  and had to share it with you. Based on the concept of holistic living, WellNest, a newly-opened store, features in-house wellness products by Dr.  Richard Ash, cold pressed juices by Organic Avenue (too delicious for words) , eco-friendly house wares and, Le Labo fragrances and accessories! We could not stop fiending over  October Anniversary chunky rings, Catherine Michiels  bracelets,  lovely frames by Urban Spectacles and many  more other eco conscious brands. The  setting  is modern, minimal,   rustic and cozy at the same time,  and once you walk in,  you find it very hard to leave… On the next page a few images by Racked that are much better than the ones we took.

Fresh off an airport fall that racheted up comments about statement-making outfits, which are increasingly being viewed with impatience among pop culture watchers, Lady Gaga made an apperance at Elton John’s White Tie & Tiara event, which raises funds for John’s AIDS foundation. Right now she’s all about the bikini, which might not be as influential as was the body suit she helped bring to prominence, but the look has the potential to translate with the bikini top functioning as a bra. We’ll see. In the meantime today is Gay Pride Day, which of course HS wholeheartedly supports After all, besides the very important issue of equality, how not fierce would fashion be without its very gay foundation.
