Vans partnered with Wildfox couture designers Kimberly Gordon and Emily Faulstich to highlight their Custom culture program with these super cool Vans Slip-Ons:

Starting February 1st, art teachers can register their school for participation in  Vans Custom Culture. The first 1,000  schools to sign up successfully, will be sent four pairs of Vans shoes to customize. Design submissions will be accepted in March. Vans staff will narrow the national field of entries to 50 (selecting 10 schools from each of the five regions), after which the public will vote online to find the top five finalists. Those five finalists will be brought to Los Angeles for an exclusive event in May where a panel of judges will choose a winner. The winning school will be awarded a $50k prize for their art program.

As part of its ongoing commitment to sustainability, H&M launches another “Conscious Collection,” parts of which hit retail this past week and is also available on line. Mother Earth-oriented or otherwise we tend to have an attitude toward H&M though we must admit this collection looks undeniably good. UPDATE: As we all know, H&M stands for “Hit & Miss” as it applies to how the clothes look in real life as opposed to high-priced photo shoots. That being said I visited an H&M on Broadway in SoHo, last night, saw the collection and was even taken enough to try on a couple of pieces. And after waiting in line for 15 minutes for the dressing room and being subjected to a mirror whose lighting would make even Lara Stone cry, I still ended up liking the clothes I tried on. In other words, quality-wise the Conscious Collection is a “hit.” Not every garment but a lot combine decent quality and fit.

Our beloved A  Peace Treaty gives us a little tease of  their Spring 2012 collection. We’re already loving the  beach side inspiration. Then again we love whatever do anyway. It’s just  one of those labels you cannot help but get attached to…global inspiration, social consciouness, impeccable styling,  pieces you know you will wear forever and even pass down.  More on the flip, via APT.
