Coinciding with artist Yayoi Kusama’s retrospective at  Tate Modern Museum in London in February which will then move to the New York’s Whitney Museum in July, a collaboration between the Japanese artist and Louis Vuitton is set to debut with the New York show. While no official images of the collaboration have been made available, the above image of  Marc Jacobs (pre-studliness) holding an LVMH bag customized and signed by Kusama, dating from 2006, perhaps can be seen  as a precursor of what we can expect. Todd Oldham joins forces with Target to create the “Kids Made Modern” arts and crafts collection, launching May 20th. It’s inspired by Oldham’s book by the same name and includes printed-duct tape, a 64-color crayon, a “Moon Rock” jewellery kit (one of 5 or 6 kinds) and a comicbook kit <–(so awesome), and a watercolor pallette with artist-quality pigments, plus more.

Designer Calla Haynes , partners with April 77 on a capsule collection of denim blending her design aesthetic at and her  favorite denim brand:

The brand, Calla, is based on the idea of relaxed luxury, so it was important to me to propose jeans to my client. I asked April 77 to work with me because they are just honestly my favourite denim brand! I wear them all the time. For this collaboration, we discussed mixing our two worlds together into a theme called ‘Romantic Rights’ – a vision that is both romantic and very rock and roll. For the print designs, I imagined a girl, in love, at a summer music festival and how she feels. I tried to communicate the heat, the nature and the music in abstract patterns.” Calla Haynes.
