Another Olympic Games collaboration that has popped up last week is this pretty groovy one featuring Topshop and Opening Ceremony, who have teamed up on a capsule collection in Union Jack colors featuring simple tops, shorts and skirts. This collection was launched separately from the Opening Ceremony London pop-up store, and is available in stores and online from Topshop and OC. There are still some pieces in stock so grab one of one of these limited edition pieces before the games end.
Announced earlier this year, the Target collaboration with chic retailer Kirna Zabete is set to hit stores on Spetember 9th. The video above gives you a peek at the collection. At first glance , we see lots of feminine separates for a look that is chic and fun at the same time. Enjoy!
Remember the exciting pump collaboration between J.Crew and Manolo Blahnik (see above right image) announced and shown during NY Fashion Week Autumn 2012 presentations? The one that was quietly shut down after Blahnik said he knew nothing about the partnership, a statement that was followed up by J.Crew’s Jenna Lyon’s stating they couldn’t go forward because of production costs, ultimately adding, ”We are in a good place with [Manolo Blahnik] now. Everything’s okay.” (Translation: “We no longer wish to hang him from the rafters for totally flaking on us.”)
Well if you liked those glitter pumps, they have reappeared in Manolo’s Autumn 2012 offerings (see image above left), only they’re priced at $655, which probably isn’t too far off from where J.Crew would have priced them for inclusion in its Collection offerings. And the glittery pumps shown above aren’t the only ones to reappear. Take a look at the J.Crew runway image on the next page and do your own comparing and contrasting with the Manolo offerings shown on Neiman Marcus’s site.
The interest question is, have they lost some of their appeal not that they’re no longer part of a collabo with J.Crew? I sort of think so.
U.K. model Agyness Dyenn has fronted Dr. Martens ad campaigns and now she is collaborating with the reinvigorated brand on a collection of clothes and shoes. The video lookbook is more about the feel of the collabo than the look, but the few glimpes it provides show offerings that seem fairly attractive, with daisies a running theme. Look for it to hit stores on August 15th.

Coming after a capsule tee-shirt collection collaboration in 2009, Gildas Loaëc and Masaya Kuroki, the genius duo behind Maison Kitsuné, have been invited to provide artistic direction for the French children’s wear brand Petit Bateau. Loaëc and Kuroki will be responsible launching a collection for men and women, an association that will no doubt increase this heritage brand’s already iconic status. Regarding the collaboration, Patrick Pergament, president of Petit Bateau, is quoted as saying:
“Kitsuné and Petit Bateau have several things in common: the same rigour, attention to detail and a respect for craftsmanship. To use the technique of Peiti Bateu to create an entire collection is an exciting challenge.”
The first collaborative effort still is available online and in stores. See one more tee-shirt image on the next page.
